My family and I were in the process of purchasing a home. We ended up in a situation in which there appeared to be misrepresentations in the disclosure (i.e., a breach of contract), based upon findings in our inspection. Because the sellers were only minimally willing to negotiate to address these defects, we thought we might have to terminate the contract and fight to recoup our due diligence money. The day before the due diligence period was set to end, we spent several hours calling around trying to find an attorney to assist us: We kept getting sent to attorneys' voicemails (with calls never returned), kept getting brushed off--it was very stressful and frustrating. We felt like the sellers had duped us and that we were in danger of losing several thousand dollars. We had left a message for a specific lawyer at Dozier Miller Law Group (a referral from another lawyer); in the afternoon, we received an email from Art Blanton explaining that though the specific lawyer about whom we'd inquired was unavailable, due to trial preparation, he would be able to assist us. Art Blanton was phenomenal!!! He reached out to us in the late afternoon--when most lawyers were probably heading home. Due to the urgency of our situation, Mr. Blanton worked with us, reviewing our documents, and advising us into the early evening. We were so impressed with his professionalism and willingness to work with us so late. The next day, when the due diligence period was ending, Mr. Blanton continued to review documents, advise us, and prepare documents for us, while we went back and forth with the real estate agents and sellers over several hours. Each time we reached out, Mr. Blanton responded and provided service very quickly, which was important to us since the clock was ticking. In the end, Mr. Blanton's assistance gave us the leverage we needed to come to a reasonable agreement with the sellers. We are so grateful for the work that Mr. Blanton provided. He was kind, patient, professional, and efficient. We would highly recommend him!
