I hired Attorney Finney for a child custody case. He initially took interest in my case and took time to listen to and understand my expectations. But pretty quickly, his approach and interest took a nosedive. Soon I was in the middle of a law firm transition which was handled very unprofessionally. When I contacted his previous law firm for more information on alternative attorneys for ongoing representation, he somehow knew that I was looking for alternative representation and told me that would take more time and delay my case. I was not informed that continuing my representation with him as he moved to a different law firm would require me to pay a second retainer fee. I ended up paying two retainer fees and thousands of dollars on top of it. Not only was I drafting my own legal responses, and correcting multiple errors in legal correspondence but also advocating for myself all the while being charged an obscene amount of money even for reading a two sentence email asking for an update (when there were no updates). When my case was finally closed after an unnecessary 2 month delay, I did not even get a final courtesy email/correspondence from him. Extremely disappointing experience for a very tough personal situation in which I lost everything.

I hired Mr. Finney after he gave me false promises. He made a lot of mistakes which he did not take responsibility for. He created problems, charged me for creating and solving them. He was very unresponsive, incompetent, and charged me ridiculous fees for it. He dumped me in the middle of divorce after he put me in a lot of legal problems. Hire a lawyer who is interested in protecting your rights and representing you.
