If you are in the process of any personal conflict or issue it will be the most emotional, personal and draining experience in your life. After 17 months and a large sum of money spent with another law firm. I felt frustrated, disheartened and aggravated. I was so far in, or so I thought, I didn’t want to “throw in the towel” with my current attorney. But at the same time, I knew something had to be done. I was at the point of walking away without anything that I had worked so hard to obtain for me and my children. I met and consulted with Mr. Matt Arnold on two occasions, at the urging of my friend that had hired his firm in the past. I finally made the decision to “jump ship” and hire Mr. Arnold as my legal counsel. I discussed with Matt what MY goals were and the outcome I wanted. He did not try to sway my thoughts, but did advise me of the possible outcome and set realistic expectations. He and his staff ACTUALLY answer your phone calls and emails in a very prompt and professional manner. They are very experienced in family law, familiar with every aspect and can advise you the best possible scenario or the course you should pursue. Anastasia, Mr. Arnold’s co-counsel was on the phone with me after hours to discuss and plan an upcoming deposition and mediation. Both took place the same day and his office had a very short window to be prepared. Matt was more than ready and the outcome was more than I anticipated. Within four – yes four (4) – Weeks of retaining Matt’s firm my case was settled. He negotiated on my behalf and exceeded my expectations. I have to say that Matt and his staff are intelligent, experienced and a group of very personable professionals that work for You. He wants things settled quickly and in a timely manner. He does not believe in waiting months or even years to achieve your goal. He is honest and sets expectations from day one. He will not “sugar coat” anything and does not beat around the bush. I had retained Mr. Arnold for a tense custody battle in which my little girl was being kept from me by her mother when we had separated. I was always in my daughter's life and it was extremely important to me it stayed that way. Matt, and his team, worked quickly, decisively, and aggressively to fight for emergency custody of my daughter. The level of professionalism, confidence, and knowledge of the law (and knowledge of the area court systems) is second to none. The entire staff at Arnold & Smith is professional and will walk you through the steps of your battle. The levels of communication, via phone and email, will keep you up-to-date at all times and prevent you from feeling stranded. His courtroom demeanor demands the attention of the room and is where his talents shine ever further. Finally, he has an important outlook which can be loss in the shuffle when custody battles become heated...he continuously asks questions which keeps the best interest of the child in mind. I would recommend Mr. Arnold to anyone whom wants to assure their children stay in their life. Mr. Arnold, Joanna, and the rest of his staff are worth every dollar. You absolutely will be bringing the top talent to the courtroom when you retain him.

Matt Arnold and his paralegal Joanna were fantastic to work with. Mr. Arnold was easy to talk to, and very detailed in his work. He didn't leave any stone unturned throughout my very complex divorce case, and ultimately got us the best possible outcome imaginable in a very timely manner. I have been involved in a highly contentious divorce case in Union County for 3.5 years. Last May I found myself "lawyer shopping" again when my lawyer at the time completely lost my trust. I decided on a highly respected attorney in Union County...however she tries to keep her practice in Union only and part of my ex's ambulance chasing lawyers plan was to sue me in multiple counties. I asked my divorce lawyer to give me a recommendation for the superior court case (libel) in Mecklenburg. "I want an amazing lawyer who will anniahilate them". Her response "Call Matt Arnold"...and that is exactly what Matt did...anniahilated them! Matt (and Kyle) kept me completely informed of the financial aspects. I knew exactly what I was getting in to and was never suprised by his billing. Matt and Kyle actually answer their emails and return phone calls...which can be rare in my experience with attorneys. Matt knew exactly what I wanted as a result for this case, always informed me of what realistic expectations I should have, he knew what I would accept, and he delivered (and some comic relief as well)! My family and I still talk about how my case made such a quick turn around once Matt took over! My advice is to choose Matt first and avoid having to come to him later!

Resonable expectations were set and the results far exceeded them. I was well informed, prepared and supported by Matt and his team. They provided comfort and confidence, as well as a great outcome. I can't possibly describe how grateful I truly am for what they have done for me. Matt was recommended to be by another trusted individual and I believe that was a blessing.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Matt Arnold regarding a traffic citation. I was uncertain as to whether I should handle it myself by appearing in court on my own or just pay the ticket and be done with all the nonsense. I can't say enough great things about Matthew Arnold and his team. I had a very complicated, high-conflict case which took a lot of time and effort on everyone's part, and I feel like my case was given the time and attention it required. Matt Arnold is a great attorney, and I would go as far as saying one of the best in Charlotte, if not the best. Bree is also amazing. She always took the time to explain things to me in a way that I would understand. This is not a group of your run of the mill attorneys...they are knowledgeable, great at what they do, they care, and they won't put up with BS. Hiring Matt Arnold and his team was the best decision I made.

For the past two years Matt has represented us with a child custody issue and we couldn't recommend him highly enough. We do not reside in the Charlotte, NC area making the situation more complicated yet Matt works hard to simply the process for us. In the times we've had to come for a court appearance Matt is incredibly responsive to the demands on our time and ensures everything is streamlined. We communicate with him mostly via email and phone calls and he consistently returns both promptly, even outside business hours if necessary. He has worked tirelessly for us and we couldn't recommend his practice enough.
