I retained Mr.Parton to handle a dog custody case. After taking $700 as a retainer on a Monday, he called me Wednesday to say he finally pulled the complaint that my ex filed against me. He informed me that I had a court date in less than 24 hours. Mr.Parton said my best course of action would be to have him appear for me and have the case dropped on improper service, since I was never served, but that would cost about $1500. Then, after my ex refiled it would cost that much, if not more to fight the actual case. He said that if I went to court myself I couldn't get the case dismissed because that would be admitting that I knew about the court date, so I better be ready to fight it. I let Mr.Parton know that I would not be needing his services since the case was less than 24 hours away, I would just go to court to fight myself. He didn't do ANY work on the case, only a half hour consultation, and refuses to refund my retainer. To make matters worse, I took off work and went to court the next day just to find out that the car wasn't being heard since I wasn't served. Mr.Parton took advantage of me and thought that I would just pay him $1500 and he wouldn't even have to go to court because he knew it wasn't being heard. He saw me as a young professional oblivious to court proceedings and exploited the situation for his monetary gain. I will be filing with the bar as well. Be very careful who you retain to represent you!

Matt was/is an absolute God-send. I got stuck in a sticky situation, and after calls to about a dozen firms in the area (and my being here for court from out of state) I was running out of options. Matt took my call just as his firm was closing and I had court the very next morning. I told him about my situation, and what I was going through, and showed a genuine sense of care/concern for myself and my toddler (now 8 year old) He agreed to meet with me very early the next day, we went over all of the details of my situation, and he accompanied me to the courthouse. No amount of money could repay him for what he did for me that day, not to mention all of the things he has done for me since. Thank you Matt, for everything. I will post positive reviews anywhere that I can, and brag about you to everyone I meet.
