I, too had a bad experience with this attorney. Mine was for a divorce. I was charged $300 to make an appointment to speak with an attorney (most bill you on the day of the consultation). So I pay, speak with an attorney who writes the date on a piece of paper, then advises me that it will be another $495. Understandable. The initial $300 would go towards the total cost of the divorce. I WAS advised that there may be additional fees for serving my ex because of the different methods that may be required. I was fine with that. So the lawyer said that when I was ready to move forward with the divorce, give the paralegal, whose card was included in the packet a call; this person would handle everything. About a week later, I called Ward Black Law. The person who answered the phone was VERY courteous and professional. I was transferred to the paralegal, who didn't even know the attorney had my case, and who, also, was very RUDE. So, I tried calling the attorney and got no answer. So I figure, 'well... probably in court.' The paralegal calls my phone (I recognized the number after dialing it so many times), and when I answer, there is no response. I mean, I say 'hello' several times, and though the person is still on the line, the person doesn't answer. I, then, reached out to the person who called me that Tuesday to see if that person could help. NOPE! All I got was a 'paralegal tried contacting you several times (one breathing, no-response phone call amounts to several times); please contact the paralegal, as this is the person who handles these things. Thanks!' Never got my divorce through. However, I DID get a phone call a day later saying that this attorney couldn't handle my divorce because she "had too much on her schedule," something I should have been told DURING the consultation. In fact, if she was so busy, there should not even have been a consultation. So, now I'm out $300 for a consultation that led to nothing.

First I want to say thx to Mrs. Afi and Mrs. Karla for their patience. My case was for shared custody with my son between his mother and I. Time for me that his mother couldn't dictate if she was going to let him come with me or not. My case took longer than it was supposed to due to circumstances that arose out of my hands. In the end his mother and I settled outta court and Mrs. Afi orkastrated the meeting with opposing counsel with all of my intentions in front!!!... I was very pleased and recommend Ward Black Law Office with special kudos to Mrs. Afi and Mrs. Karla to any one that needs family councle. Thx...

Attorney Johnson-Parris was the second attorney I hired to represent me for a painful and costly divorce. She is a very professional, knowledge, competent attorney. A woman with integrity and good moral character. Unfortunately, opposing counsel was an unethical and deceptive attorney who used her family name and family reputation for her benefit.

Let me be completely clear...the mention of her name shut down my situation/case. Afi is very professional and was present in my time of need. I knew that it may be a difficult process to go through, but she reassured me that she would be there every step of the way. She was organized, courteous, and had it together! From my initial time meeting her, I knew she was the one. I was referred to her by another attorney that said she will not go down without a fight. I felt prepared and confident that things would be ok. Very professional!!

Mrs. Johnson-Parris was thorough and concise on our proceeding while also making us feel that she was invested as we/the family were... I am happy and satisfied with her and the services she provided... #topnotch

Afi was a fantastic attorney for my divorce, separation, and child custody case. She always patiently explained the process and my options, but more importantly, she always took the time to listen to my concerns. Earlier this year I hired Mrs. Johnson-Parris for a change of venue for my Child Custody case in another county. This was my first time working with an attorney and I really had a positive experience with her firm! Mrs. Johnson-Parris was very friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. She took the time to answer all of my questions and walked me through the process of what I needed to expect in my case. She was easy to contact through both email and phone, and she was always readily available. Anytime I emailed her or left her a voicemail, I had a response same day! I also distinctly remember her returning my call when she was sick with the flu, she could hardly talk but she was devoted to easing my worries and giving me and update on my case. In the end, she was successful in getting the venue changed in my case to the county I live in, I was ecstatic! Recently, I contacted her with some advice on a personal matter, Mrs. Johnson-Parris took the time to listen to me, offer advice and give me some referrals. Although I was no longer her client, she still took the time to listen to me, and help me come up with a solution. It's still refreshing to know that good, honest, caring people like her still exist today! I highly recommend Afi Johnson-Parris Law Firm to anyone! She is honest, trustworthy, fair, and worth every penny!
