I was driving through North Carolina from out of state. In a moment of bad judgement, I was pulled over for speeding and had to go to court. After reviewing several attorneys, I selected Mr Doermann. My son got his first speeding ticket and boy was it a doozy! He was doing 81MPH in a 55MPH zone and got pulled by a state trooper. Jim handled a very serious and personal case for me that ultimately went to trial. These false criminal charges were filed by a vindictive ex-husband in an attempt to gain leverage during a contentious divorce. Jim honestly seemed to care about my case. He took time to listen. He gave me his professional advice but he also cared about what I wanted to happen. Jim was a life line when it came to navigating the NC court system…. my daughter was stopped for speeding in Alamance county —no ticket but a court date??#% we are from MA - totally different —- so after hearing stories of triple digit community hours, license suspension ( first offense) remedial education… we hired Jim… we found him professional, approachable and clear about what to expect and what we could do to mitigate the ruling ( ie she took the online remedial driving course) , so after delaying the court date twice in order to find a reasonable situation for us — Jim was able to bargain it down to a moving violation — so no long term insurance fines, we did have to pay court fees/ fine ( ie $300.00) but it could have been much much worse — Thank you Jim!!
