Molly was recommended to me by a close friend when in my time of serious need. Molly & team have worked diligently to help me through my situation and as we brought our matter to a conclusion, she gave me the opportunity to move forward in life without looking back and definitely satisfied with the outcome. I highly recommend Molly Howard Law to anyone seeking a professional to help you through any situation.

Was referred to Molly Howard Law office by a family member to see Rebecca R. Costello. When I called to set up a consultation I was informed that Rebecca R. Costello no longer was at Molly Howard’s law firm even though her name was still on Mollys website and still is 30 days later. Set up an appointment with another attorney (whose name is still not listed on Mollys website) and after a consultation hired this attorney to much of my regret! I will review that attorney in a separate review. Halfway thru the process of working with this attorney I emailed Molly to see if she would take the time to speak with me about some concerns I had and heard nothing!! My advice, do not hire this law firm especially if you’re a man!! My only hope is that this review will keep someone from giving them money for zero results. These people are only in business to take your money, not represent you like they advertise. Buyer beware!!!

Pros
1
Highly competent and effective legal representation, with the lawyer going above and beyond to advocate for the client's interests
“Molly was and is an excellent lawyer! She walked me through every step of our case with a kind and caring attitude.”
2
Compassionate and supportive approach, making clients feel heard and valued during difficult times
“She took the time to make me feel worthy when I was at my lowest and lifted me up when I was down.”
3
Availability and responsiveness, with the lawyer maintaining open communication and continuing to provide support even after the case is closed
“Although my case is finished, I know I can stop by or drop an email to just say hello, how are you, and she will respond in kind.”
Cons
1
Potential bias or lack of impartiality, with some clients feeling that the lawyer was prioritizing the interests of the opposing party over their own
“It's apparent she colluded with the other team. And still today, 3 months later, many e-mail and other communications were ignored I am still without payment.”
2
Issues with communication and responsiveness, with some clients reporting difficulty in reaching the lawyer or feeling that their concerns were not adequately addressed
“I had a difficult time getting in touch with her and her office on numerous occasions, and I felt like I got billed way too much for way too little results.”
3
Potential for suboptimal outcomes, with some clients feeling that the lawyer's actions or advice led to less favorable results than expected
“Due to her 'math' I ended up paying more a month than the separation agreement asked for. The only answer she could give was 'It's the law'.”

When I was referred to Mr. Bryson by a friend, I was told he was the best attorney in the county for serious criminal cases. Mine was definitely a serious case. I was worried life would never be the same. Mr. Bryson listened to my side of the story, spoke honestly and clearly about what my options were, and gave me a fair price. He kept me up to date on every court event for the next year. He always answered my panicked calls and annoying questions, and never made me feel like I was fighting this alone. Most importantly, when it was all over, he got a great result in my case. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

My husband was facing a relatively minor charge (DWLR) but was facing possible jail time- something we had to avoid with two new babies and my husband knowing he would lose his job. We were referred to Mr. Bryson and hired him. Mr. Bryson was always polite, calm (even during my anxiety-driven calls looking for reassurance) professional, and he never failed to return a phone call. Although he never made any guarantees, we came to trust that he would do his best to avoid my husband having to serve time. We couldn't have hoped for a better outcome in this case, so I am grateful for the work he did on our behalf and feel confident in recommending him.

When one sets out to marry they think it will be forever, well that’s the hope at least. Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case. And that became my reality in a painful blink of an eye. Once the shock wore off and it was time to focus on what to do next, I began to ask many people I knew what law firm should I talk to because I truly had no clue. However, the same name continued to be said . “Molly Howard’s office “! I did my due diligence tho and went and talked to 3 different law firms . Molly Howard’s office was the last office I had an appointment with and the attorney I was scheduled to speak with for my consultation was Rebecca Costello. Third times The charm for sure because I knew when she walked into the room to speak to me she was the one I was going to hire to represent me. They all three basically said the same kind of things in regards to what I was going to do or expect but she was different. Rebecca Costello elevated the experience. The way she carried herself , the way she spoke to me and the way her presence shifted the energy in the room. For the first time in this new process my spirit morphed from fear into a sense of calm and the choice Was irrefutable. Rebecca Costello is a game changer and her vibe demands it. Not only was she always very professional and well versed and knowledgeable she was attentive to my personality type , the anxious kind. If overthinking was a skill I’d be a top tier professional and after speaking with her I always felt more At ease and confident in our journey ahead. Furthermore everyone in the whole place made me Feel like that when I was there in person or on the phone and that’s so important. I have nothing but the best things to say about that entire staff but Rebecca Costello is in a class all by herself. And I’m Sure as her career continues to progress what she is going to accomplish and the number of people she will help will be exponential. I will always recommend Rebecca Costello to anyone that ever ask me in a time need. “Who do I need to go talk to ?” My answer will always be Rebecca Costello. The woman is a powerhouse and she knows exactly what she’s doing. Case closed!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of High Point, North Carolina?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
