Me Delany represented me on a case where i was facing multiple felony charges. He was able to have most of it thrown out and for me an excellent plea deal

One has an appointment on monday. Thank you so much.

The Lawyer Charged me over 2,000 dollars to be represented and when cross examining the state trooper he had no memory of the case, no direction, and did not know any of the laws pertaining to my charge or that could help fight my charge. He sounded like a complete fool and made me feel like one for hiring him. The Judge overruled him on many occasions. One Reason the judge overruled him was for making comments such as "is failure to maintain a lane even a law". The district attorney even knew the law. He would not take my advice on how I wanted him to cross examine the state trooper and he wrote everything I said off as if I had no idea of what I was talking about. He built up a false hope for me saying "You have a great case" and "we have a chance to beat this" in his office as I routinely paid him just to tear it all down before we enter the court room saying "I do not know how we are going to prove this cop is lying" and "I can't promise you anything. I have no idea what's about to happen". Immediately before the case he told me our tactic was flawed and impossible, but had no other solution. Worst experience of my life. I paid this lawyer for absolutely nothing. I wish I would have went to the library and handled it myself. I more than likely would have had a better outcome, and even if I didn't I would have at least felt at ease knowing I had done everything possible.

Mr. Holm has represented me for over 10 years through the worst and best of family times. Throughout, he has been professional, thoughtful, prompt and kind. His staff are both friendly and efficient. I feel like he has left a clear pathway for me and my heirs to follow.

Meredith Parker and David Holm are by far the most compassionate and understanding lawyers they did not pre judge me on on what others said they got to know me for them selves they have worked countless hours and late nights to accommodate my busy work schedule and went over every detail of my case with me I am not highly educated so they took the time to break things down to me so I would understand fully what was going on any time I ask many ways and they help me along if you are looking for a firm that will have your back they will at every turn never seen a firm that works harder than me so I thank you David and Meredith from the bottom of my heart and to my soul it brings tears of joy to my eyes what you have done for my family every one was happy both sides

David Holm represented me two years ago during my divorce, his services were outstanding. He and his team were professional, exacting, prompt, and, at the same time, very approachable and made themselves available to answer questions or provide news on progress during this process. Dave was very clear in describing how the process would play out, from the custody arrangement to the equitable distribution to the eventual signing and filing of the divorce papers, and very astute in outlining a strategy that would best insure a positive outcome for both me and my daughter. His advice and counsel was intelligent, reasonable, insightful, and honest. I have no doubt that, on more than one occasion, Dave provided advice that proved to be vital, advice that kept the eventual outcome on the right track and in my favor. I would strongly recommend Dave Holm and his team to anyone who finds themselves in the unfortunate position I was in two years ago. Due to a lot of hard work on my part, I am in a much better place now than I was then, but I have no doubt that I owe a great deal of that to Dave Holm.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Holly Springs, North Carolina?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
