Brittany Hall represented me in a long, challenging divorce and custody case. In every respect, she was an excellent attorney and advocate for myself and my young children. Brittany is skilled in navigating complex legal issues like relocation, ED, custody modification, and child support. Her billing is reasonable and transparent, and she was helpful in communicating all my options at each juncture of our case. Also—she may be petite, but she is *fierce* in court. If you’re facing a complex divorce or custody matter, I highly recommend Brittany Hall and Cape Fear Family Law.

Mr. Sims handled an uncontested divorce that went smoothly and painlessly. Even though my now ex was hard to get a hold of (he would not let me know where he lived or even his phone number), he still agreed to come to the office to sign what ever documents were needing to be signed per Mr. Sims request. He is well versed in the law and straightforward in his work ethic. He does not sugar coated anything, he tells you like it is. He works hard for his client to get what is best for them. I recommend him not only for Divorce but for the other areas of practice he is involved in.

I was in need of Separation and Divorce and Mr. Sims was very easy to talk to regarding the matter and was able to assist me. His retainer fee was reasonable! I gets what needs to be done without and BS like other attorneys. I appreciated his straightforwardness and honesty about my situation.

Mr Sims is professional, seems to be well versed in the law, and is well known in Jacksonville. If you are a mom with an open and shut case, this could be the guy for you. If you are a dad, or have a case that needs to actually be litigated, you might want to look somewhere else. He charged us a flat fee, like most do in Jacksonville, but didn't seem obliged to earn it. We found that he follows client requests when he likes, but uses his own "judgement" and you may find that he doesn't tell you things about the case, or makes decisions on your behalf, that don't always promote your interests. He seems to be more interested in keeping the peace than winning the case, and definitely has a "you win some, you lose some" attitude that is inappropriate, especially when you walk away feeling like he didn't raise a flag in your defense. We questioned several times during our case whether or not he was working for opposing counsel, and we're still not sure that he didn't bend us over the fence. I don't question his moral compass, just his work ethic.
Do your research, get everything in writing, and make sure that you approve every move that's made.
