After receiving a summons from Union County regarding divorce I contacted and hired another attorney that was recommended by a friend. I used that attorney for several months and up to the time of mediation where I was unsuccessful in reaching a settlement. It was then that I got the feeling that I was the one who did most of the negotiating and felt like it would be in my best interest to consult with other attorneys regardless of the cost. This is when I found Penny and after the first consultation I hired her without a second thought. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable but she had the personality I was looking for. She is not intimidated by anyone. She is outgoing, funny, aggressive, bubbly, compassionate, and a shark at heart. Although I know she works extremely hard to get the best outcome possible for her clients I also believe part of it is that she wants the world to know that she won't be pushed around or intimidated. It's part of her personality and I personally loved it. In addition, she always responded to my phone calls or emails in a timely manner and simply put is a pleasure to work with. If your getting a divorce and don't hire her you are making a big mistake. She is awesome!

I hired Penny after having a very disappointing experience with another local law firm. Penny did a great job at listening to and addressing the concerns I had with my previous experience. She was able to have the case transferred and jump right in and fix all of the damage caused by the previous attorney. I was so grateful as the ease of the process of changing attornies in the middle of a case. Penny is very firm, confident, and direct. She is clear with her clients about reality, and doesn't sugar coat. She is NOT intimidated by opposing counsel, and very firm and appropriate in her speech and actions. Although I did not get to see a trail, Penny was able to get me a great negotiation and I believe this is due to her knowledge, experience, and tenacity.

Penny was great! I loved how clear, consistent and transparent the entire process was. She represented me only for a custody related deposition but worked well with the other lawyers and gave excellent advice to my husband and I. She helped us feel confident and secure in our decision-making by not sparing any detail, and by fully explaining all our options. All fees were meticulously explained and no expense was wasted. If I ever need legal services again, I know I can trust Penny to have my best interests at heart.

I had zero experience w/legal issues prior to this one (not even a traffic violation), so I didn't know what to expect (heck, I didn't even know where the courthouse was). So I needed an attorney to guide me through the process. Unfortunately I spent a small fortune on a previous lawyer (using the term very loosely). It was a year that I spent most of my time & money fighting with him. I knew that I was going to lose my case if I continued with that firm. She ( and her team) were not only kind, honest, and respectful; they were sensitive and compassionate. She honors your time & your money. Finding a good attorney was hard. I truly believe that Penelope was a blessing to me and my family. She was very attentive to my case and was very informative as to my many requests and strategic thoughts during this process. Penelope, as my family attorney, did an excellent job throughout a long process in regards to divorce, child custody, and child support. She was always willing to listen, and more importantly, she was always honest with me about what was reasonable and not reasonable for what I wanted. Nobody ever comes to a family attorney as a happy person (and I was no diffferent) - but it helps to have an attorney who you can trust to handle the legal aspects of your situation, while you rebuild your life for the better.

No one ever wants to go down any path alone and unsure as well......with Penelope Hefner I didn't feel this way at all! I would highly recommend her at anytime when it comes to my family. She was amazing, personable, and helped me through some very hard decisions with the best interest of me and my family at heart!! She truly was compassionate but still had a stern and firm way to focus on the issues at hand. She has not only been my attorney but is now a great friend....... :)

Anyone who has to interact with the court system knows how difficult a process it is. Now when you are vested or fighting for something or someone the emotional stress can take a toll on you. I was thankful that Penny listened to me and worked diligently to represent me in a positive and ethical manner. She was honest with me and never over promised.
