Making the decision to divorce is a difficult and emotional step. Mr. Irons and his staff made the legal process easy to understand and answered all my questions, both weekdays and weekends and willing to go the extra mile to provide sound legal advice and answers. They were friendly, caring, timely, providing updates all along this process. Mr. Irons is genuinely concerned for his client's well being and often inquired on how I was doing and if I needed any additional help. I found that to be very encouraging and supportive. Getting the right lawyer: Collin Hardee A problematic situation like mine calls for an exceptional lawyer. When I first called Irons & Irons, whose online ratings and reviews most impressed me, I insisted on speaking with its principal partner, the son of its founder. My reason for holding out was a fear that my tenacious husband would hire a top legal gun to squash me. My husband had the money and the will to play hardball for however long it took and how much it cost. So I needed an exceptional lawyer. To save me money, the firm assigned the early stages of my case to a junior partner, Collin Hardee. From our first exchange, he impressed me—a gifted writer, technically savvy, warm, and compassionate. But, most importantly, as I learned the day I made my escape, in a pinch, I could reach him on his cell, even on weekends! As my case unfurled, my regard and respect for his abilities and dedication increased. We collaborated intensely, and I was thrilled to go through this awful process with someone who respected me and what I brought to the table. I shared many an embarrassing details, which my lawyer and his team organized in preparation for court. You must trust your lawyer to uphold your dignity when insults, innuendos, and delusional propositions barrage it. It takes an exceptional human being with strong moral character to keep a client on an even keel when navigating a marital morass. Moreover, given my nomadic circumstances, we relied entirely on digital communication. To this day, I have yet to meet my lawyer or members of his firm in person. Atty Hardee came to me by default from a well-known law firm inundated with a large case load. My case was a difficult one complicated by a narcissistic ex-spouse, uncooperative in the separation/divorce process. Anyone who has been married to a narcissist knows exactly the complexity I'm referring to. Atty Hardee wasn't afraid to dig through the details of my case and parse out those issues that would be most impactful in negotiating a fair divorce settlement -- no small feat in a county that unfairly favors females, even abusive ones. So, when I met Atty Hardee, it was his first day with the firm; I was re-assigned to his case load. What I quickly discovered was the very newness that I was initially concerned about quickly became the source of his most admirable qualities. As a new atty, he's updated on the most recent case law and is not yet jaded by the system. In my case, this meant that he truly cared and was personally invested, wanting to see the most equitable outcome. It's Atty Hardee's moral compass that sets him apart from others. He never wavered in his commitment to me and he was unfailingly responsive. Competent and hardworking; he has already built a solid working relationship and good reputation with many of the legal actors in family law in Carteret County (fellow attorneys, mediators, judges) that will certainly influence any future clients' legal fees because this is their livelihood too. Atty Hardee is compassionate and stays on top of the local and state laws that govern family dissolvement. I took an active role in my separation case, and he was grateful for my insight and vested interest into my own case, not insulted but rather always interested in our best foot forward for legal strategy. He listens to his client and that is rare. Lastly, with Atty Hardee you get his best effort, his zest for the law and he consistently puts the best interests of his client first and foremost.

Few decisions tax our emotions, thoughts, and soul as much as ending a marriage by divorce. They stepped into my divorce, custody, property battle right before it went to trial. There were years worth of documents and evidence to absorb, in a pretty short time frame, which I was really nervous about... But I had the dream team, two attorneys with different style who compliment each other perfectly to handle different aspects of the case. Gib and Harry were both great to work with and they knocked it out of the park. We won! It was a very tough and stressful situation, but they handled it very professionally. I definitely recommend them, and if I ever need another atty in the future (hope not) i will be going to them.

Gib Irons is a workhorse who will fight for you when you need it. He knows when to act, how to act and helps you be ready to act as well.
