It was really convenience and Doug was super kind! I had my 21 over ticket and he took it down to 9 over, and no insurance point! He took good care about it.

Douglas is the best lawyer in the Wake County area! No need to keep reading reviews. If you need help with a speeding ticket, this is the guy to go to. I was very worried about my speeding ticket I received, especially because I had recently settled a ticket with a different county. Since, the tickets were back to back I was concerned I would be in some trouble with this second ticket. Douglas responded back quickly and handled everything for me at a great cost! Highly recommend!

I called Doug Portnoy to help me with a speeding ticket that was significant enough that I had to appear in court. He was busy at the time I called, but he immediately texted me. We were able to discuss my case and he answered all of my questions via text message. He represented me in court (I did not have to take time off of work), and he was able to negotiate my speeding violation down to a minor one, which prevents this infraction from hitting my insurance company! Doug was responsive, he answered all of my questions, and his fees were reasonable. 5/5 I do recommend.

I can't recommend Mr. Portnoy enough. I got a ticket for the first time in about 10 years late for work one morning, doing 62 in a 45. After freaking out most of that day, I discovered Mr. Portnoy. He worked some magic and was somehow able to reduce my ticket to an improper equipment charge (meaning no license points and no higher insurance payments!). Don't freak out over a stray ticket let Mr. Portnoy handle it for you!

Doug Portnoy probably can’t walk on water, and I seriously doubt that he can turn water into wine. That said, I have seen him perform miracles. My first experience with him was the unfortunate result of me not paying attention during the first day of school, and getting a rather hefty speeding ticket in a school zone. Getting a ticket for conventional speeding is a problem, speeding in a school zone is a big problem. With his representation, he was able to plead down my case to improper equipment. No points, no insurance increases, just court fees. My second experience was a result of me having way too much fun in my brand new midlife crisis car. I was caught doing 97 in a 70. Once again, I reached out to Doug, who told me that this case might be a little bit more difficult than the last one. He advised me to proactively do 10 hours of community service, take a defensive driving course, and write a letter of apology to the police officer. Despite Doug taking care of to set my expectations a little lower, he was able to produce an extremely favorable, if not shocking outcome, which once again resulted in no points, no insurance increases and zero fines…only court fees. Bottom line, if you’re the recipient of any traffic ticket, big or small, your first and only call should be to Attorney Doug Portnoy.
