Heather is extremely knowledgeable and competent. Her advice helped me navigate through this very difficult process. The staff at the firm is equally competent and always helpful. I could not have asked for better representation.

Zero Star If I could - Heather is the worst in my opinion. All she cares is money. She's neither proactive nor responsive nor professional. She does not explain much of anything other than just forwarding the opposing counsel's emails and documents to you even though you had already expressed your desires and concerns to her. I am a highly educated professional and in my field, professionals like me explain things to others and give counsel. She did and does not do that very well or much. She also would siphon off your retainer out before you can blink your eyes and she would ask for more retainer though you still have plenty there. She spent more than $5K of my money without nothing other than filing a complaint, after not hearing no counter from the opposing side. She's just too busy to be proactive and productive. I don't know about other attorneys that work with her on this firm, but in my view, she deserves a Zero star. She's grossly over rated in my view. I am most dissatisfied and disgusted by her handling of my affairs.

I believe Heather has a good head about her in regards to what is the norm for court custody trials. However, she doesn’t seem to have experience with out of state custody moves/ military and many pieces of our standing agreement are unclear now that it is in play. Additionally, I believe that the practice should be upfront on expectations in regards to the norm that the other parent will always get the minimum unless they are physically violent with the children. I felt that the practice did nickel and dime me. For example, I believed during the custody process that negative mishaps with my ex, such as, verbal/emotional abuse, rashes, poor behavior with the children, prior DV, calling for “well checks” incessantly, filing false charges, harassing daycare, etc. would carry more weight in court and should be communicated to my attorney to leverage less time for him due to him not acting or behaving appropriately for the children. However, this was not the case. She would review and provide me with best ways to respond, however in the end, it didn’t matter if I was civil or not. He still gets minimum custody and that was with him using a lawyer who was uninvolved in the whole process. I would recommend hiring a lawyer for less since the state sets the minimum time.

She worked day and night on his case and although I thought it was going to be impossible for her to undo the damage caused by so many people, Heather produced a miracle. I would highly recommend Raleigh Divorce Law Firm, and specifically Heather Williams Forshey, for anyone who needs a highly experienced attorney that can be trusted to put her heart and soul into their case. Her staff is just as efficient and always available when needed.
