With a few weeks under my belt to digest and gather my thoughts and feelings, this review comes after a year and a half of waiting and unknowns, a trial, and a sentencing. I have known “Buddy” Allard my entire life. My dad and Buddy have been best friends since ninth grade. After a devastating tragedy in December 2017, my family’s relationship with Buddy changed forever. While I would never wish the heartache, uncertainty, anger, and sadness on anyone, we couldn’t have asked for a more genuine and caring friend and lawyer to walk alongside us in some of our darkest of days. He has cared for us, prayed for us, and worked his tail off to ensure we received the best possible service. Buddy is a wonderful lawyer, and better yet, he will go above and beyond for you in a heartbeat. Due to their lengthy friendship, you can imagine the difficulty in navigating both the personal and professional responsibilities of preparing for a trial. Buddy buckled down and explored every avenue when researching and preparing. He kept me updated on progress along the way. As the trial made way, I was immediately drawn to Buddy’s demeaner, patience, persistence, and interest in the jury and each witness. He is comfortable, confident, and wise... and just enough of the three to capture and keep your attention. He showed humility and reverence, especially when addressing the other family involved in the tragedy. Never once did I feel he weakened or compromised his rapport with the jury or the other family. In fact, Buddy’s strategic game plan and carefully spoken points resulted in fewer, but more powerful words. It speaks volumes when you know what to say, but more importantly, when to say it. Although Buddy has been equipped with the tools to practice law (and do it well), the secret to his success does not solely rely on his own abilities. All the glory goes to our Lord Jesus Christ, who simply used Buddy as a vessel to do his work. When I say, “God is good” I am not simply saying that because of the kindness he has shown on my family is this season, but because he made a way back to Him through His son Jesus Christ. Throughout the last year and a half, Buddy has embodied many qualities of the Lord as he has helped, prepared, encouraged, and carried us through this season.
