I used Cape Fear Family Law on my recent case to have child support re-evaluated. My attorney was Waneta Ellis, who was very professional, and guided me every step of the way. I live in another state and so I had to do all correspondence through emails, and phone calls. She was always available to answer my many of questions, never rushed me, and was truly vested in helping me win the case. She didn’t sugar coat anything, told me the concerns and possibilities of every scenario possible. I was extremely pleased with Waneta, and will use her again in the future if needed! I would recommend her to any of my family and friends looking for a down to earth, professional, hardworking attorney!

I live out of state. I had a previous relationship interest in NC which unfortunately did not work out. Radio silence from the opposing party was immediately broken when I was contacted this past December by the state of North Carolina, saying that I was bound henceforth of a monthly bill to the tune of $4800 in child support payments–not a small monthly sum. Now, I’ve never previously been in this type of predicament, but my musings with the hit TV series Better Call Saul and Suits gave me the notion that typically there was some sort of court appearance and/or judge to make these types of decisions—neither of which I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. Something was amiss. With great haste, I contacted Cape Fear and was introduced to Matt Geiger. I spoke periodically with Matt over the next couple months about the case, what had happened, and what the next steps were. He warned me that although i may not have known about the previous court date, in the state of NC, evidence that they simply sent notice is all that’s needed to uphold the previous hearings judgement (mildly assbackwards, but I digress. He successfully navigated the litigious landscape and was able to secure another court date, where I met Matt for the first time face to face. I was met by a younger gentleman who assured me with great confidence that all would be well, and while mildly apprehensive about the court proceedings in the coming hour. I was fearful while listening to the opposing counsel who had overwhelming evidence that a notice to appear was indeed sent, but all fear was immediately extinguished when Matt was able to go back through all the records and find that although the notice was sent, it was sent a day later than was required by the state in the case of an out of state resident: me. Due to this one simple fact, the entire court ruling was thrown out and we have since come to a fair and equitable child support payment. I shout his praises and would strongly recommend him to anyone that asked.
