Pleased with my experience here.

When my company’s disability insurance denied my claim for a very odd reason I was lost and did not know what to do as I was new to North Carolina and I was unfamiliar with the laws. I reached out online for answers and was told from multiple sources to get a Lawyer. I am not the suing type, but I needed help. The first lawyer was unavailable for more then 30 days to even speak to me about my rights, which was far to long as I was in pain and did not want to jeopardize any future claim, as it was my goal to get the denial overturned. My next lawyer, Doug, was available right away. I was able to speak to Doug within a day and get some much-needed information. I was unable to properly drive so they sent someone to my house to get the documents signed so they could represent me. This was still during COVID, so this was immensely helpful. Doug was always there to answer my questions in as plain English as possible, so I understood everything that was happening. His extensive experience at multiple levels in the North Carolina disability industry grants his insight and an understanding that make his service world class. During my remediation, the lawyer for the disability company gave a very strong statement and claimed I was not injured at work but on my personal time, as well as other rather hurtful comments. I was angry and much to my surprise so was Doug, he told me that his language was out of line and that he would regret such an attack, and I believe they do. I just settled my case for far more compensation than I thought possible, or even wanted, and I got to keep my job, which was a requirement that the insurance company pushed back on several times. Through the whole thing Doug had my back and did not budge on my requirements as he believed they where reasonable. I loved the help he provided and though I pray I never need his help again I know where I am going if I ever do. I, in the sincerest language possible recommend him and his firm. Everyone there was helpful, friendly, and polite to me, especially his paralegal Dayna. If you are reading this, I am sorry you are in the position of needing help, but this team is some of the best people I have had the pleasure to work with.
