My boyfriend and I recently used James Downey on an emergency custody case for his children. I read all the reviews online about this law firm and was impressed by everyone’s experience. James was able to get us in for a consultation in a timely manor, upon our consultation James was extremely informative and genuinely caring about our situation. He is very responsive and doesn’t leave you hanging for an answer. He was able to get the best outcome possible and we will absolutely be returning to him for future uses. James is very cost efficient and an all around great guy. I highly recommend James Downey and Hartsoe associates :)

This was our first time working with any type of lawyer for our business and Tony Hartsoe was amazing! He gave great actionable advice for both the business and legal side of our questions. Very clear answers, extremely knowledgeable, and did not make us feel like a burden even though we asked him explain some things multiple times. Wasn’t afraid to admit that he wasn’t fully knowledgeable in some areas, but offered resources and referrals that could be of help. Will continue working for the foreseeable future and definitely recommend, especially if you’re new to business! Really surpassed our expectations!

Upon first contact with Hartsoe & Associates, PC, I spoke with Debbie. She was very kind and attentive. I had an appointment for a consultation almost immediately. On the day of my consult, I met with Mr. Tony Hartsoe. He was so very imformative, patient, well-spoken and kind-hearted. Tony helped to resolve an issue I had with a local bank. He was successful and took care of all the communication and paperwork.

I hired Mr. Bennett D. Rainey after he was recommended by another attorney, here in Winston Salem. Going through a separation, with children involved is a traumatic ordeal. Establishing custody/visitation schedule of my infant son with his father was my main concern. Baby is still breastfeeding and very attached to me; I was very worried about prolonged separation from him for visitation with his father. Mr. Rainey always had baby’s best interest in mind when giving advice and discussing options. He was upfront and straight forward from the beginning; telling me the facts and not “stringing me along” with possibilities or maybes. James Downey from Hartsoe and assoc. represent me in a child custody and support case and was excellent to work with. We sought Mr. Rainey to help to obtain a custody agreement for my child... He helped us achieve our goal and was open and honest in every answer he gave regarding my concerns. I had consulted with others who made it seem like some of my concerns were unwarranted and that some of my requests were totally unachievable but Mr. Rainey made me feel at ease and was able to explain things to me in a more 'caring' aspect even if the answer wasn't one I would've preferred to hear. I appreciate his methods and should we need to seek further representation I wouldn't think twice to retain him for my future needs! Thank you for all your help!

Tony has represented me and members of my family for over 10 years and we have always been so grateful for his work. His concern for the client become obvious as does his wealth of experience which allows him to guide you effectively. He will tell you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. When my sister and I attempted to deal with my dad's bank, after his death, we were being simply taken advantage of! Despite our appears and offers to resolve the matter, we could not bring the matter to resolution. Tony took the matter and it was handled, to our satisfaction, quickly and without any negative impact to us. From traffic violations to tax and estate planning, Tony will always be the person/firm on which we rely.

I was charged with a felony for a small amount of marijuana. At first, I went to one of the bigger law firms around the Triad and was told I had no shot and would be lucky to take a plea deal that would include a low tier felony conviction. This result was not acceptable to me given the small amount of marijuana (less than a gram). Steven and his colleague Emily awarding were able to negotiate a plea of a misdemeanor of less than a half oz of marijuana which was the exact goal I was shooting for. Based on my reading, I knew I would have to plea to something, but a felony plea would have cost my my job and my family’s livelihood. Steven and Emily were caring, throrough and accommodative. On top of it all they had a very competitive rate and have been kind enough to work with me on payment. I would highly recommend Steven and Emily to anyone who gets in a similar situation.
