Patrick was very helpful, friendly and professional yet laid back and very informative on any questions I had. Overall the experience was very good help during a bad time. I’d certainly go back to Patrick for any future legal issues.

Patrick Waters is a very good lawyer. He has fought for me and for my son to have the best outcome in court. He is the right amount of aggressive and very intelligent when it comes to these court cases. I recommend him to anyone looking for a shark.

BEWARE! No matter what trauma you’re experiencing read reread EVERYTHING! You wouldn’t think someone would drastically change your answers on an affidavit, but they will! Not once during any of our conversations did I say I sale furniture and home decor, I went into extensive conversations with Travis Iversen even one on one about what I sale, he talked about his wife buying expensive purses, about my husband stealing mine, and jewelry. We talked about when and why I left the home on more than one occasion, that was switched around. Went into names and addresses of my consignors that was taken out! Again no matter how much you’re being pushed to sign and hurry up and get something in, ignore them and go over everything with a fine toothed comb before signing!The worst of it was missing deadlines and saying he was going to set things up that never got done! Parenting schedule he was going to take care of and then didn’t hear anything until the interim while my daughter and I waited on multiple occasions for her father to pick her up! Victims shouldn’t have to communicate with their abusers immediately after leaving them, and lawyers shouldn’t say they’re going to do something and never do it! His excuse “I left the office, and had a lot of fires to put out when I got back.” my husbands discovery, I have asked since the day I got mine when he was going to get his, “ don’t worry about it, we’ve got plenty of time.” He wanted more money, okay I could do half this week, half next. The day after I paid the first half he calls and tells me he missed the deadline to send the discovery to my husband “sorry, my bad” we sat in silence for 2 mins, I couldn’t breath, he goes on to say “it doesn’t matter anyways”he needs more information about my Poshmark taxes, etc, which mostly I go to give him over the phone that he never files. Now I’m required to pay my husbands attorney $1500.00 because of discovery answers they wanted on my discovery that BOTH counsels have had for months!!! I fired Travis, I couldn’t take it anymore and I’ve known since the first interim that something wasn’t right, every minor insignificant thing I get an email from opposing counsel, major things and even private pertinent things, Travis is just calling up the opposing counsel and telling him, which I find out because my child’s telling me the very things I’d let him know. No paper trail on my end. Bismarck is a small town, with a limited amount of family lawyers, you do the math, most don’t care how they negatively affect you or your children’s lives. I’m a single mother who left the home only to find out my husband had been lying about paying 3+ months of bills, trying to get me and the children evicted the week my babies started school, that was also taken out of my affidavit! This was either malicious or repeated ignorance and I pray it was the latter but do yourself a huge favor an triple check everything, no matter how you’re feeling or how much you believe you can trust another human being, You can’t, and that’s probably the hardest realization I’ve had to come to.

Great law firm. I had Travis Iversen, great lawyer. He most definitely will get the job done. Always prepared and ready which is really good to know when you hire a divorce lawyer. As for the Heartland law firm, they are always professional answering the phone and quick to get back to you. I most definitely recommend them.

Incompetent attorney. He fights for no one but himself. Horrible communication too. Do not go with this guy he's useless.

Patrick and his team were very professional and prompt in dealing with multiple situations with me. I have been using heartland since early 2021 and plan to continue using them for any legal matters I have.

In my experience, they would require 1/2 of what ever they may charge for representation before they acknowledge/answer any questions. They/he asks in the questionnaire you are required to fill out before you speak with them/him, what you are looking for help with. They/he refused to answer the most basic questions/requests that were outlined as asked without thousands upfront. I realise family law is expensive, but I feel for 300.00 one could say they would be able to fight for the most basic of requests from an upstanding father.

Patrick did a great job helping me out. He was quick to respond to emails and calls, and gave well thought out legal advice in a difficult situation. I would recommend him to any family or friends.
