John is an excellent lawyer who will go above and beyond in representation of his clients. He is accessible, knowledgable and direct. He will not mislead. John is what you would call a "straigh shooter" who tells it like it is. If you find a need for crimal defense, car accident claims or landlord tenant issues, don't hesitate to contact John. If you have a solid claim, he will get you solid results.

Mr. Mulvey is not your run of the mill attorney. He is thoughtful, patient, honest, fair, and incredibly brilliant. He has helped my family and many of our friends without judgment or ridicule. He truly stands out among his colleagues.

Mr. Mulvey is a excellent attorney who understands the law, and tell it how it is to his clients. As i was telling my story he was interrupting me and treating me just as i would be treated if I was on the stand. I was renting an apartment and my landlords refuse to give me back my security deposit. I went and filed my lawsuit without any lawyer advice; due to a lack of money, and once I had my first court date my landlords did not show up to court they sent their attorney. The case was switched to the regular court docket so an attorney could represent them and at that point I was told that I should look into getting an attorney. The first thing I did was walk over to The Legal Aid in my area and the informed me that they could not help me. I was very worried because I knew that I would not have a chance at winning my case without an attorney. I was determined not to give up so I went home and began looking for an attorney that would represent me without having any money up front. After calling numerous attorneys and leaving messages to some, and being told that my case was not good enough by others, I was very discouraged and thought about giving up at one point of time until I received a call from Mr. Mulvey. He told me to meet him at his office where he would talk to me for an hour and see if I had a case. After talking to My. Mulvey for three hours he finally decided to represent me. Mr. Mulvey did not waste anytime he began to work on my case immediately. After about a month I received what I was entitled to with the help of Mr. Mulvey. In addition, not only was Mr. Mulvey great to me, but he was great to my children also, anytime I had to come into the office and bring the children he always had a special treat for them which they enjoyed. I would 100% recommend Mr. Mulvey because he is great at his job, and he was willing to help when everyone else tuned me away.

A late review but he help me win my social security disability hearing appeal back in 2021. I had the most difficult judge ever with a very low approval rate. He listens to your issues and concerns. He helped presented a good case for me during my hearing and won my case.

Daniel is a charismatic, smart, diligent, knowledgeable, and hard working attorney. When Daniel speaks, people listen; he doesn't mince words, and knows the right things to say and when to say it to win your case. Additionally, Daniel is very understanding and compassionate to what his clients are really going through, and actually listens. He is not the type of attorney that pushes you off to work with a paralegal, Daniel personally works closely one-on-one with his clients. He was able to navigate the ins and outs of my case, with my very rare and hard to understand disease, to successfully winning my case. Daniel is truly an amazing attorney, and he has all the traits, charastics, and skills you could possibly want from an attorney. Trust that you will not be disappointed if you decide to hire Daniel to represent you!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cincinnati, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
