Upon meeting Nancy, I immediately felt comfortable that she was able to understand the potential difficulty of my divorce case. Little did we know what the future would hold and just how challenging and complex my case would end up being. We ended up dealing with an onslaught of false allegations, various CPO's and eventually a case of parental alienation. I will say that Nancy had the experience to tackle all of the issues gracefully and with the children's best interest in mind. She worked extremely well with the GAL in sorting through all of the testimony, details and the facts of the case that resulted in a change of custody. I can't thank her enough for her sensitivity to the issues, her patience with me, and her eternal optimism for the best outcome. She never sugar coated the possibilities and had faith in the system doing its job. Nancy fought for me and the future my children's best interests. I cannot thank her enough.

I was panicked when I first figured out that I needed help with my child custody situation.  Fortunately, a friend of mine, who went through a child custody situation, recommended Nancy through personal experience.  When I reached out to Nancy she called me back immediately. I was surprised to get a response so quickly.  Over the phone, she asked pointed questions and helped me understand that her only concern would be the wellbeing of my child.  At the in person consultation, she offered me a game plan to help me in a lot of different scenarios with the father of my child...it was much more than I could’ve imagined getting out of an hour long consultation.  Even more impressive was her honesty and candor; she told me that I need not retain her services yet, but that when I needed she would be there for me.  In summary, I cannot imagine a more professional, capable, and reassuring legal resource than Nancy.  My overall impression of her is this- she’s truly a trust-worthy, eminently experienced, and ethical partner.

When I came to Nancy I was already many months into my divorce process. In fact, I had less than a month before my court date. Nancy took me on and immediately got to work. She got up to speed quicker than I could have hoped for and gave me the first feeling of hope I had felt since the process began. I truly felt like a priority. In preparation for trial, Nancy and I had great communication. I worked two jobs and had my children often; Nancy was always willing and able to work around my schedule. Thanks to Nancy I felt confident going into trial. Her presence in the courtroom was superb, providing me with great confidence in her abilities. I cannot adequately articulate the appreciation and respect I have for Nancy and what she does. I’ve already referred her to others and will continue to do so going forward.

I was referred to Nancy by a friend who’d retained her previously for a divorce/custody issue. Let me just start by saying Nancy changed my life. I come from a childhood where for a large portion I was a ward of the state. Multiple group homes and foster homes throughout my childhood and I experienced more wretched things then any child should ever go through. Having survived that life and making it into adulthood I always vowed to be the best parent possible if I ever got the chance. In 2017 I got that chance. My son was born and I was ecstatic raising him. For almost two years me and my then split girlfriend co-parented amicably without any formal court order and everything was great. Going into his 3rd year of life the relationship with myself and his mom deteriorated and I started getting to see him less and less. Until eventually several months went by with only being able to see him for hours at a time. I felt defeated. Hearing how dads are generally treated in courts I was petrified. Theres nothing unfit about my sons mother, but also nothing unfit about me. Nancy understood that. Hell she further ingrained that into me. A father provides an aspect in a child’s life, and importance, that can’t be replicated. Both father and mother are equally important. So I hired Nancy for my son as much as I did me. She fought for every single word in my shared parenting agreement, literally. She Would stay up on the phone with me past midnight discussing my case. She answered questions, gave me direction and then followed up on results. She made it possible for me to open presents with my son on Christmas, to trick or treat with him on Halloween. Several days ago I was awarded shared parenting of my little boy. None of it, not the extra time I got in the beginning of the court saga, the holiday time, the end results, would have happened if not for Nancy. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You Nancy. As I write this review my sons asleep in the other room. There toys spread all over my floor, his half eaten snack is on the table, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️

A late review but he help me win my social security disability hearing appeal back in 2021. I had the most difficult judge ever with a very low approval rate. He listens to your issues and concerns. He helped presented a good case for me during my hearing and won my case.

Daniel is a charismatic, smart, diligent, knowledgeable, and hard working attorney. When Daniel speaks, people listen; he doesn't mince words, and knows the right things to say and when to say it to win your case. Additionally, Daniel is very understanding and compassionate to what his clients are really going through, and actually listens. He is not the type of attorney that pushes you off to work with a paralegal, Daniel personally works closely one-on-one with his clients. He was able to navigate the ins and outs of my case, with my very rare and hard to understand disease, to successfully winning my case. Daniel is truly an amazing attorney, and he has all the traits, charastics, and skills you could possibly want from an attorney. Trust that you will not be disappointed if you decide to hire Daniel to represent you!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cincinnati, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
