I had the privilege of working with Paul Croushore on a recent legal matter, and I cannot express enough how impressed I am with his expertise and strategic approach. Paul's brilliant legal strategy was pivotal in getting our case dismissed, leading to a successful outcome in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Paul represented us in a complex copyright infringement case brought against us by Growella, Inc., a mortgage company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Growella, represented by John Bennett from Frost Brown Todd, alleged that we, Phillip Ganz and other defendants, had infringed on their copyrighted content related to the home buying and mortgage process. Despite the plaintiff's strong representation, Paul immediately recognized the critical issue of personal jurisdiction and strategically focused on this point. Paul filed a Motion to Dismiss for Lack of Personal Jurisdiction, meticulously arguing that Growella's claims did not meet the required legal standards to establish jurisdiction in Ohio. His arguments were clear, compelling, and backed by a deep understanding of the relevant legal principles. He expertly navigated the complexities of both the Zippo test and the Effects test, demonstrating that Growella had failed to show that our actions were purposefully directed at Ohio residents or that our website targeted Ohio more than any other state【6†source】. Judge Matthew W. McFarland agreed with us in every respect, dismissing the lawsuit by Growella. Paul argued that, based on case law, transfer or dismissal was the appropriate course of action. While he acknowledged that transfer could be considered if deemed appropriate, he did not request it. Moreover, Bennett opposed the transfer, so the judge dismissed the case outright. This decision was a complete victory, as the judge agreed with Paul on every facet of the argument. Thanks to Paul's efforts, Growella, Inc.'s complaint was dismissed without prejudice, and the case was terminated from the court's docket【5†source】【6†source】. Attached is a copy of the judge’s decision. This victory over Growella, Inc. and their counsel, John Bennett of Frost Brown Todd, is a direct result of Paul's legal acumen, thorough preparation, and strategic foresight. His ability to anticipate the opposition's arguments and counter them effectively was invaluable. Throughout the process, Paul kept us informed and confident in our legal standing. I highly recommend Paul Croushore, JD, LLM, to anyone in need of exceptional legal representation. His dedication, expertise, and strategic brilliance are truly unmatched.

Dear Reader, I was humbled when Dr. Croushore accepted my case. Please allow me to explain. I believe that many would have looked down me, not accepted my case, Or charged me Over Abundantly in attorney’s fees simply on, prima facie (at first glance), due to the nature of my convictions without hearing the full details. Dr. Croushore, however, impartially heard my pleas for assistance, looked beyond the superficial elements of my case and represented me in an extraordinary fashion. It was a rare privilege to have Dr. Croushore represent me as an advocate of Justice for Humanity. My family and I thank Dr. Croushore for his extraordinary efforts, tenacity for details and fortitude to stand up for what is right. Respectfully, J.Roper

I hired Paul to help me with an appeal. His ability to very quickly grasp a complicated case that had already been going on for years was amazing and reassuring. I am not a fan of lawyers after what happened to me and Paul helped restore my faith in the legal profession.

Paul came highly recommended, from several attorney friends. After I lost a 7 year court battle, that should have never been filed with 2 Big Cincinatti Law Firms, I hired Paul to handle my Appeal of this 7 year nightmare . Mr. Croushore understood, right away, where my previous 4 attorneys made grave errors in my initial defense. Paul quickly put my mind at ease when he identified several major errors my previous defense made, during my initial consultation. After 3 months working with Paul Croushore, he argued my case in front of the judge and had the judge reverse the previous decision, ending my 7 year battle VICTORIOUSLY!!! I can’t emphasize enough how brilliant of a lawyer Mr. Croushore is! In my opinion, Paul is one of the best and brightest attorneys in the Tri-State. If needed, I would hire Paul again, in a heartbeat! Absolutely the BEST!!!

My family had discussed the very thing he added to my initial question without knowing we even had that discussion. It was timely, effective and greatly appreciated because it was the part we were still questioning about the same concerns that encouraged us to reach out for legal advice in the first place. Wonderful! Thank you again!

A late review but he help me win my social security disability hearing appeal back in 2021. I had the most difficult judge ever with a very low approval rate. He listens to your issues and concerns. He helped presented a good case for me during my hearing and won my case.

Daniel is a charismatic, smart, diligent, knowledgeable, and hard working attorney. When Daniel speaks, people listen; he doesn't mince words, and knows the right things to say and when to say it to win your case. Additionally, Daniel is very understanding and compassionate to what his clients are really going through, and actually listens. He is not the type of attorney that pushes you off to work with a paralegal, Daniel personally works closely one-on-one with his clients. He was able to navigate the ins and outs of my case, with my very rare and hard to understand disease, to successfully winning my case. Daniel is truly an amazing attorney, and he has all the traits, charastics, and skills you could possibly want from an attorney. Trust that you will not be disappointed if you decide to hire Daniel to represent you!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cincinnati, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
