Great consultation with attorney Meg Pauken about estate planning.

When my boyfriend, Michael, was picked up by Delaware county for a probation violation and told that he would not be put in front of a judge until he had a lawyer (whether it be a public defender or hired lawyer), I was so lost on what to do. All this court stuff was very new territory for me and the public defender’s office told me that it would be about a week before Michael was even assigned a lawyer. Michael needed out as soon as possible so that he could return to work and not lose his job. I called a ton of lawyers and left message after message asking for information and help. I was so overwhelmed and felt so lonely, lost, and scared. When I called Pat Farrell’s office, Cindy answered the phone and was so delightful. She was extremely helpful and kind. She gave me her cell number so that I could contact her with any questions that I had at any time, not just during office hours. I already felt so much better just hearing a friendly voice Unlike all the other lawyers I called, Mr. Farrell returned my call quickly (within a few hours even though Cindy mentioned that he was in and out of court all day). He was very patient with me as I did not have a ton of information on Michael’s situation at the time. He and Cindy were very understanding and willing to work with us on paying his retainer fee. Once we had made the initial payment the next day (Friday), Mr. Farrell went straight to work getting more information and forming a game plan on getting Michael out as soon as possible. After calling various departments in the court system and getting treated so rudely and like I was stupid, it was so relieving to finally feel as though someone was on our side and wanted to help us. Since it was a Friday that we initiated a contract with Mr. Farrell, we had to wait through the weekend, but once Monday rolled around, Mr. Farrell had already done so much and had gotten a hearing for Michael for Wednesday. At the hearing, Mr. Farrell fought to get Michael out. Michael walked out the door 3 hours after his hearing with no money having to be paid to be released and a VERY fair agreement to rectify the situation with the court. I cannot recommend Mr. Farrell and Cindy enough. Like I said, I was so lost and overwhelmed and I had no idea where to even start with this process and Cindy and Mr. Farrell’s kindness and understanding made this horrible experience so much easier. They are a blessing from the heavens!! I cannot recommend them enough! Thank you so much Mr. Farrell and Cindy!
