We came to Michael Hill with a very complicated issue after a loved one died. He navigated my family through the process of recovery and helped us move on with our lives. He was always responsive and usually contacted my family with updates long before we had any questions. I highly recommend Michael Hill and his law firm.

Attorney Hill was patient, understanding and caring with my family through a very difficult ordeal. He listened and made himself available no matter the day or time. He was compassionate and really took the time to get to know my family and who our beloved one was. He is excellent at what he does and is highly recommended.

Michael level set expectations expectations immediately, on a complicated single car accident that took the life of my 20 year old son.
He listened sympatheticky, and experly as I explained what I knew of the painful details.
He took these details, and dug deep to get answers and access liability.
When it appeared the liability was my son's, he graciously and honestly addressed that with me with the sensitivity of a friend.
I would without a doubt contact and trust Michael for any liability, wrongful death case.

Originally, I was recommended to Dennis Lansdowe, an associate of Michael in the Law firm by a family friend who was an insurance attorney. My family friend couldn't pursue the case on my behalf because of the travel his job required. By recommendation, I set up an interview with Michael and Dennis as well as one other pair of Attorney's with this family friend. After talking to both parties I was assuaged by the pragmatic ideology that seemed to drive Michael/Dennis over the others. An important part of my decision came from the fact I had just turned 19 at the time. I held onto the people around me in hopes my future wouldn't be skewered by the images of greed motivated lawyers that float around in our culture.
Two years passed, it is wise to wait as long as possible for medical claims. I waited and while I waited I was worried. At the time I didn't know if I would be taken advantage of for being so young in the interest of profit. I kept in contact with the family friend to see what I should expect and with my parents to know how I should act. When the day came I went to the office curious if I was still a victim of an accident. I was happy to find Michael had retrieved the maximum amount of money, besides medical bills since negotiation has a 3-year statute of limitations, and even more happy and relieved to find I was not price gouged. Michael only took the minimum percentage negotiated as a fee despite the deterministic traits of said fee being hazily stated as the amount of opposition encountered - it would be hard to state explicitly given the unique circumstances of each case. I would not say I'm surprised, as my family friend informed me that my case was straightforward matter of book keeping, but it soothed my nerves as an inexperienced, young college student.
The second part is where more of the practices of law come into play, but I am not sure what the expected outcome is so I will state what happened and let the reader be the judge. My medical bills were negotiated in the following year. My bills were paid for almost entirely by my health insurance. The insurance paid upwards of $50,000. Michael negotiated the company down about half of the claim size. The fee for the said claim was smaller than the previous sum of money which was a welcomed jog of my memory regarding the contract. This was especially nice to hear given my fears of greed and the people advising me outside of the case led me to believe this part was much more difficult than the first part.
Let me highlight a few things that I think are important variables in the case:
Both parties knew I was naive, but both parties knew I was in touch with the attorney family friend.
My claim was not incredibly large and so called "easy" to recover ( the first part).
I have no idea how good of a recovery the second part is given the insurance company(Cigna) and the circumstances.
I found everything to be very easy for me and I was happy with the result, but I will never know if my naivety was a taken advantage of and I never knew.
Maybe there is something a more experienced person will see that I did not, but hopefully the details I gave will show you anything I did not see. I, however, cannot think of anything negative about my experience, thus, a 5 star rating.

Michael is an extremely talented attorney. I hired him to litigate a legal controversy regarding a medical malpractice case. He handled the claim in an extremely professional manner. His arguments were clear and concise. He recovered a surprisingly large settlement on my behalf. I would highly recommend Michael and the team at Spangenberg without reservation!
