Their website states they handle bad faith insurance claims but they refused a meeting to discuss exactly that. No service isn’t as bad as incompetent service, but it still warrants a poor review.

When my mother fell and broke her shoulder a few years ago, my sister and I entrusted her rehabilitation to a local nursing home. Unfortunately, one of the employees at the facility was negligent in my mother’s care and caused further injury to her shoulder, causing her to return to the hospital for further surgery. When I learned that an investigator from the Attorney General’s office recommended that criminal charges be pressed against the individual, I knew that I also needed to pursue the matter civilly to ensure that my mother was compensated for the injuries caused by that negligent employee. A friend of mine recommended Andy List, and from my first telephone conference with him, I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Andy took care of everything to prepare this case for a potential trial against the individual and the facility, and then acted as a skillful negotiator in obtaining a favorable settlement for my mother. I am forever grateful to Andy and his assistant Linda for helping our family through this very difficult time.

It was with some reluctance that I began the process of considering the pursuit of a wrongful death claim against a pharmaceutical company on behalf of my Mother's estate. I was not sure how to proceed. Thus I began the process of looking at various web sites for various legal firms, and followed that with several phone calls. When I called Clark, Perdue and List Co, LPA I was treaded with a kindness, courtesy, and professionalism that seemed to be a cut above the rest. Linda, the Paralegal I most frequently communicated with had exceptional legal knowledge and skill. She had the ability to explain in an extremely clear manner the answers to all my many questions. The staff was very thorough in obtaining all the records and information needed to support the claim. The lawyer I dealt with, Andrew List, certainly went above and beyond the call of duty in effort and completion of meeting all the requirements and deadlines the court placed on this type of claim. I was frequently updated regarding the process of the case. Clark, Perdue and List Co, LPA far exceeded my expectations in bringing to a successful closure this case. It is with great confidence and respect that I would highly recommend this legal firm.

Back in 1989 I was involved in a life threatening auto accident while on my way to school. While I was still in the hospital, my parents met with Dale Perdue and hired his law firm to take my case. Mr. Perdue and the rest of his staff were so helpful to me, as well as, my family during this difficult time. They guided us through the process and were always happy to help us with any questions or concerns. In 2011, my husband was in a life threatening auto accident. While I was sitting in the hospital wondering what to do, I thought, “Call Dale”. Within a few hours, he was sitting by my side. Once again, he walked me and my husband through another very difficult time. Dale, Pam, and the rest of his staff have been a very big part of my life and have always felt like an extended part of my family. I have recommended Dale and his staff to friends through the years and will continue to do so.

Aug 6, 2014 was a horrible day for me….. I was attacked by a bull dog that was looking to hurt my puppy that I was walking. I saved my dog but was hurt in the process. I had seven bite marks on my arm and an injured knee when released from the hospital. Shortly after being released the bills started coming in (hospital, lab, x rays and lots of doctors)... My husband and I decided it was time to seek legal counsel. We met with Mr. Glen Pritchard, explained the situation and we both felt comfortable knowing that Mr. Pritchard and his staff person Linda would handle this for us. We had a happy day on June 4, 2015 when Mr. Pritchard said…. Here is your settlement check and it is all over. Yes it was over and we are so thankful for all the Mr. Pritchard and Linda did for us. I would recommend Mr. Pritchard to anyone who had the misfortune of being injured by a dog. Thank you again Mr. Glen Pritchard and Linda.

Aaron Kenter is a professional, hard working, hard fighting, take-no-prisoners attorney that I have had the honor to represent me. I desperately needed help with my child custody case. My previous attorney screwed my case up something horrible, was weak, and not very experienced with contested custody cases, or tough opposing lawyers and magistrates. My previous attorney was a very, very nice guy..the HELL with that!!!!! I needed a lawyer who was smart, fearless, knowledgeable and experienced with the heart of a tiger shark! Aaron Kenter (and his supervisor Tony Greco) are textbook definitions of a phenomenal, dedicated attorneys who get the job done! Because of these two gentlemen... They won my case, I have my son, I have peace of mind. and they taught my ex a lesson she will never forget! If you ever need lawyers who will fight like hell on your side, make you laugh when you think there is no hope in the world of you winning, and have a long proven track record of winning tough cases... look no further then this very talented attorney! Thank you so much Aaron for all your hard work and phenomenal expertise!

Our case came at a time when we were looking for answers for the best way to handle a less than supportive environment for my daughter. This office and Aaron in particular was honest with us about our case. He supported me through a difficult time and showed me direction when I needed it. He was always available day or night to help, Aaron is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced attorney in all areas of the domestic/family law area. In a practice area that can be very emotional and antagonistic, Aaron remains calm with his effective focus on the factual and legal issues. Aaron remains very caring about his clients and is a professionally relentless advocate on their behalf. I could not have gotten through this without him and his determination.

I have had the pleasure of having Alex twice. Once for my gf for a DUI. He let us know what was going on through the whole thing. Helped get her license back ASAP. He got all other charges dismissed. Then I had to use him for my case driving under suspension. He helped me get driving priveldges then got all other charges dismissed. And only chsrged with no operator license. Very small fine. My gf and I are very pleased with him and would recommend him to everybody we know. His fees are reasonable and he will work with on them. He answers calls and texts within the hour.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Columbus, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
