Catherine has been wonderful. She has been extremely professional and has gone above and beyond for this case I had. When I tell you she got everything done in a timely manner. My ex wife tried to change the schedule and not have me make decisions for my son who is autistic. Catherine told me everything would be ok and that I would be able to once everything was done. I’ve been battling this case for almost a year and Catherine got everything I needed to ensure my son have the life we all envisioned. I now have joint custody of my son and get to make decisions regarding his medical and schooling. As a father who been in this situation and a ex wife who seen me go through this. Catherine ensured that I will be ok and she made sure to keep her promise. I no longer see her as a lawyer but family over the last 8+ years. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a lawyer who will honestly fight for them to have their rights!

Catherine has been extremely professional since hiring her. As an active father she was willing to fight for my rights as a father and ensure that I am able to continue ensuring my children needs are met equally. She is a lawyer but as time went on we treat her as family. Been with her for almost 8+ years and would recommend her always to family and friends if needed. She is honest and she will always work hard for you especially when you feel there is no hope! Catherine gets things done and will always be support you.

Catherine provided clear, straightforward explanations of all possible outcomes and patiently guided me through the process. Throughout my case, she made me feel like I was talking to a friend. Catherine was absolutely phenomenal during my divorce process. Unlike other attorneys' offices where I couldn't even speak directly with a lawyer, Catherine answered my call herself. Right from that initial conversation, I felt reassured and knew I was in good hands. When I met her in person, her office had a calming atmosphere, and she approached my situation with a perfect blend of directness and compassion. My circumstances were particularly challenging with my spouse behaving erratically and cutting off communication, possibly going through a mental breakdown. Catherine was exactly what I needed during such a confusing time—she was assertive, knowledgeable, and unwavering in her support. From start to finish, I felt safe and well-informed; she was honest and transparent throughout. Her unwavering integrity and dedication were evident at every turn. Catherine consistently advocated for fairness and what was in the best interest of our son, steadfastly upholding principles that truly mattered. Her commendable commitment was further underscored by the significant time she devoted to preparing for trial on my behalf. I am profoundly grateful for her tireless efforts to ensure that my child could maintain a meaningful relationship with their father under the most appropriate circumstances. Overall, Catherine's professionalism, compassion, and commitment to justice were unmatched. She not only guided me through the legal complexities but also provided invaluable support that went beyond expectations. Thank you Catherine, couldn't have done this without you. I wish you many blessing for you and yours.

Aaron Kenter is a professional, hard working, hard fighting, take-no-prisoners attorney that I have had the honor to represent me. I desperately needed help with my child custody case. My previous attorney screwed my case up something horrible, was weak, and not very experienced with contested custody cases, or tough opposing lawyers and magistrates. My previous attorney was a very, very nice guy..the HELL with that!!!!! I needed a lawyer who was smart, fearless, knowledgeable and experienced with the heart of a tiger shark! Aaron Kenter (and his supervisor Tony Greco) are textbook definitions of a phenomenal, dedicated attorneys who get the job done! Because of these two gentlemen... They won my case, I have my son, I have peace of mind. and they taught my ex a lesson she will never forget! If you ever need lawyers who will fight like hell on your side, make you laugh when you think there is no hope in the world of you winning, and have a long proven track record of winning tough cases... look no further then this very talented attorney! Thank you so much Aaron for all your hard work and phenomenal expertise!

Our case came at a time when we were looking for answers for the best way to handle a less than supportive environment for my daughter. This office and Aaron in particular was honest with us about our case. He supported me through a difficult time and showed me direction when I needed it. He was always available day or night to help, Aaron is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced attorney in all areas of the domestic/family law area. In a practice area that can be very emotional and antagonistic, Aaron remains calm with his effective focus on the factual and legal issues. Aaron remains very caring about his clients and is a professionally relentless advocate on their behalf. I could not have gotten through this without him and his determination.

I have had the pleasure of having Alex twice. Once for my gf for a DUI. He let us know what was going on through the whole thing. Helped get her license back ASAP. He got all other charges dismissed. Then I had to use him for my case driving under suspension. He helped me get driving priveldges then got all other charges dismissed. And only chsrged with no operator license. Very small fine. My gf and I are very pleased with him and would recommend him to everybody we know. His fees are reasonable and he will work with on them. He answers calls and texts within the hour.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Columbus, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
