There are hundreds of attorneys in Columbus Ohio who are highly experienced in the Domestic court and family litigation, most of them are good attorneys, there are absolute few who are trustworthy and highly professional in their practice. But when you need to protect yourself and your kids while Divorcing someone with Borderline or Narcissistic personality disorder and Supported by highly educated, very wealthy and very dysfunctional family who are able to hire several attorneys, do anything in their power to hurt you and your kids over several years of legal litigation, there is absolutely one Attorney who can stand by your side in very professional and ethical way focused on his duty to provide the best legal advice during all the traumatic circumstances you will go through. Mr. Bracco was the one and the only who went above and beyond all expectations in understanding my case, predicting what my ex-spouse may do or say in court. His being very well prepared and very professional in the court room, helps the court to keep focusing on the most important things while my EX and the family along with their attorneys are doing their best to extend the litigation and distract the court with any possible way. Mr. Bracco legal and psychological guide to safely navigating a high-conflict divorce from my unpredictable spouse gave me strength over the years to take control of my case with assertiveness and strategic thinking. Words are not enough to thank Mr. Bracco and his team for all their hard work and support on my case and highly recommend them to lead through high conflict divorce cases.

Divorce case. The case went right up to trial. He forgot a lot of stuff and had several repeated meetings to discuss the same things costing a lot of wasted money. His trial preparation was extremely poor specially his time in the court. It was all last minute in the morning and all on paper. He did not share the discovery and a lot of information with me. He kept on reducing expectations as the case went on. His lack of preparation worked against me and helped the other side. Even during the negotiations he left several things open ended leading to loosing outcomes. Focused on money and showed no empathy even after loosing the case. Always came late to meetings scheduled in his office and left on the stoke on the hour. Gave a lot of incorrect recommendations and then later denied giving them. I would never recommend this lawyer to anyone especially for divorce cases which involve a child.

I contacted Robert Bracco & his group in early Jan 2010. Robert Bracco and his associates from day one treated me with respect along with a very caring heart. This group understood that my case was going to be an uphill battled from the time we filed the case in Franklin County but stood by me until my case was settled. Robert Bracco would call me any time there was a change in my case. Even when I thought it was a lost cause Robert & Associates continued to give me the legal support that I required. I am a person with a disability and they always took their place beside me and defended my disability. I would recomend them highly. Robert Bracco & Assoicates are considered trustworthy, dedicated, Knowledgable and will take your legal matters seriously. This group of attorney's I beleive are the best out there.

I just finished up a matter (successfully) with Bob and his firm handled. It was a messy matter and without Bob's perseverance, professionalism , knowledge and "street smarts", this could have had completely different results.

Aaron Kenter is a professional, hard working, hard fighting, take-no-prisoners attorney that I have had the honor to represent me. I desperately needed help with my child custody case. My previous attorney screwed my case up something horrible, was weak, and not very experienced with contested custody cases, or tough opposing lawyers and magistrates. My previous attorney was a very, very nice guy..the HELL with that!!!!! I needed a lawyer who was smart, fearless, knowledgeable and experienced with the heart of a tiger shark! Aaron Kenter (and his supervisor Tony Greco) are textbook definitions of a phenomenal, dedicated attorneys who get the job done! Because of these two gentlemen... They won my case, I have my son, I have peace of mind. and they taught my ex a lesson she will never forget! If you ever need lawyers who will fight like hell on your side, make you laugh when you think there is no hope in the world of you winning, and have a long proven track record of winning tough cases... look no further then this very talented attorney! Thank you so much Aaron for all your hard work and phenomenal expertise!

Our case came at a time when we were looking for answers for the best way to handle a less than supportive environment for my daughter. This office and Aaron in particular was honest with us about our case. He supported me through a difficult time and showed me direction when I needed it. He was always available day or night to help, Aaron is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced attorney in all areas of the domestic/family law area. In a practice area that can be very emotional and antagonistic, Aaron remains calm with his effective focus on the factual and legal issues. Aaron remains very caring about his clients and is a professionally relentless advocate on their behalf. I could not have gotten through this without him and his determination.

I have had the pleasure of having Alex twice. Once for my gf for a DUI. He let us know what was going on through the whole thing. Helped get her license back ASAP. He got all other charges dismissed. Then I had to use him for my case driving under suspension. He helped me get driving priveldges then got all other charges dismissed. And only chsrged with no operator license. Very small fine. My gf and I are very pleased with him and would recommend him to everybody we know. His fees are reasonable and he will work with on them. He answers calls and texts within the hour.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Columbus, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
