They worked diligently to get us a favorable ruling during a protracted case, and because of their understanding and flexibility when it came to monthly fees, we were able to see it through to the end in the first place!

I worked with Kohl & Cook for almost a year on a civil complaint with a home improvement contractor. As we resolved the complaint, I believe they were fair and equitable with a plan to settle the balance of billable legal hours accrued in the course of dealing with the complaint. Since I have no experience with other law firms or civil litigation, it's hard for me to rate the quality of their legal work, but their communication and level of service were sub-par in several ways: - Throughout our time together working on the complaint, I consistently had to chase them down for updates - They didn't consistently adhere to committed timelines for certain tasks and provided no update when they didn't complete tasks in the timeframe they committed to - They abruptly and without preamble or explanation transitioned my primary point of contact from one attorney to another; in at least one instance the two attorneys provided me with conflicting advice - Costs associated with the complaint ballooned throughout discovery without my approval or foreknowledge and with no explanation without my probing for one - In at least one instance they misrepresented the facts of my complaint within a legal document in spite of the corpus of information and detail I had provided to them - They were unhelpful as I was trying to wrap my head around the tax implications of the complaint - As I was working through the tax implications of the complaint without their guidance, they would not help with the advice I received from an accountant and a tax attorney, implying in the process that I might use collateral associated with that advice in some sort of accusation of malpractice It may be that my expectations were simply too high, but for a firm to whom I was paying monthly more than my last car payment, their customer service seemed severely lacking.

I recently called and spoke with Tim Cook. He was able to give me guidance and advice that no other lawyer would, even though he was not taking my case. He spoke with me for over 30 minutes and did not ask for a penny. I can say with the utmost certainty that this firm is hardworking and trustworthy. It’s hard to put into words how thankful I am to have been given the time and help I needed from Kohl & Cook Law Firm. From the first call with Andy who assured me my case was something they could not only handle, but would be happy to take on, to every email and phone call I’ve had with Greg since then, everyone has been professional, considerate and supportive. Not a single question, email or phone call ever went unanswered.
