I’ve worked with Troy and his firm twice in dealing with nefarious acts by large institutions. His ability to wilt their arrogance in pursuit of fair and equal resolution is without compare. Troy artfully straddles the space between subtle compromise and stern retort, ensuring you’re on equal footing with powerful firms. He is my first call when anyone, including myself, needs help.

Troy did a awesome job for me and my family. Troy was very knowledgeable, professional and so was his partner Andy. They both did very well with my issue with the mortgage company. I would highly recommend that you hire him and his team to represent you in anything concerning your mortgage lenders. Do not wait go to them they can help.

I hired Troy Doucet & Associates to represent me in a claim against my mortgage company. His team worked to find us the best settlement possible. I would absolutely recommend Troy for mortgage and banking law.

Mr. Doucet did not represent me directly on my case. It was another attorney in his firm who handled my case, but he did oversee everything in my case. I interacted with a few attorneys in their firm, because the case was very complicated. They did a wonderful job. They went above and beyond to get me justice. I do recommend this firm. They do help less fortunate, like it is stated on thier website. Thank you Mr. Doucet.

In my initial consultation with Troy, he gave me good indications that my case was strong, simple and straightforward. Based on the information he provided and those I read on his website, I was under the impression that his firm has previously handled cases similar to mine. I felt confident that my case would not be a novel undertaking for the firm. Once I signed the fee agreement, I never once again met or spoke with Troy.
At the start of my case, I found out that the attorney assigned to me had quit and I was told the new person handling my case would be “J” and his boss, Andew Gerling, had to sign off on everything. Maybe that’s why my first two billing statements show an inordinate amount of time (about 24+ hours) spent on the (enumerated) complaint filed with the court, not to mention the repeated review or meeting with senior or supervising attorneys regarding my case.
I communicated mostly with “J” throughout my case, who was nice and personable, and I spoke with Andrew twice, mostly about billing issues and my concern that I would not fully recover my loss because of the mounting legal expenses. First call, he was very reassuring. Second time, he went back on his assurances as I understood them and was pretty rude, in my opinion. In the end, the total legal bill was about 70% of the settlement award. After negotiating with the firm, they discounted their fees so I would get 40%. I think it is disingenuous to say that I got 100% of the award just because the settlement amount was split into two payments: one check was made out to me and the other was paid to Troy’s firm.
I understand that law firms have to earn money. There are fees associated with all the services they provide. I do not begrudge them that and they did work on my case. However, I feel like they could have accomplished the work needed with less hours. And it really didn’t reassure me when I saw the opposing counsel had even questioned the reasonableness of their fees in their court filings. Maybe this was just a trial tactic from the other side, but it reinforced my concerns. Overall, it was a very stressful experience for me to worry constantly whether I would be worse off than when I started and I felt strongly enough to leave this review based on my actual experience, how I felt I was treated, and what I know to be true for my case.

Attempting to reach Mr. Doucet you first have to get past the person that answers the phone. Not to say she wasn't nice... but there is certainly room for improvement. What was promised was not delivered. So a follow up call and again the conversation wasn't the best. Finally spoke to the attorney (still not Mr. Doucet as I requested), but he promised a call back the next morning. About 3pm I called back and was told that they are busy and I was on the back burner. At that time the secretary suggested that I should call another law firm as well. I was surprised that she would suggest that. (The call was recorded if there is any dispute). After a bit the original attorney called back and made it seem as if I couldn't pay. He even said that his fees would be higher than the amount I am trying to get back.
The calling another law firm advice from the secretary would probably be best for most people who need help, as this law firm doesn't seem to want to do it... especially in a timely fashion.

I sought out legal advice from Mr. Doucet, but because I am not his usual client he decided to discourage me from taking any further legal action. He was very condescending and would not give me straight forward answers. If you are giving someone legal counsel I believe you should be respectful of their situation, regardless if you are able to help the person or not.

Troy is the sharpest, most attentive attorney I have met. Nothing gets past him, and his expertise quickly resolved a years long matter in my significant favor. Make him your first call when you need world class litigation representation. He will not disappoint, and your case will take a turn for the best.

Our company has been working with Troy and his team for about 2 years now. We've dealt with lawyers in the past but none, I repeat NONE, have had the mix of law and business savvy that we needed when drafting our client contracts. When you're dealing with complicated, multi-year agreements as we do, a single mistake can cost you thousands and sometimes millions. We've been so impressed with the attention to detail personal touch he gives our matters that we wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The old adage holds true I suppose: You get what you pay for.
And I can attest, you'll get the best with Troy.

We have been clients of Troy's for over three years now. We simply cannot put in to words what Troy and his team has done for our family. Troy has been outstanding as a lawyer, but also as a support system. I have called Troy at all hours panicking about some sort of shenanigans that our lender was pulling and he has answered all of my questions and reassured me that this is just another one of their dirty tactics. I feel like I could trust Troy and his firm with my life, in fact, I have for the past three years!

I needed good representation, and I was apprehensive - I had moved to Texas and was having difficulty keeping current with payments on properties in Ohio. I was so fortunate to have found Mr. Doucet. He and his staff were polite, professional, respectful, diligent, responsive and effective. He handled three matters for me, and the results were all what I expected.
If anyone I know in Ohio tells me they need representation for something Mr. Doucet handles, I will very gladly give them his number.
