I had to literally call the police on this firm because they over charged me for services and than the police escorted me into their office and made them provide services that they fail to provide due to their own unprofessionalism.

My lawyer, Greg, did not do his job. First of all he lied about what he could do. He told me it was legally possible to get part of my husband's trust he received before we were married if I had helped make decisions on it. Then later he came back and told me it wasn't possible and to stop bringing it up. He talked to me in a very unprofessional way and when I talked to him in the same way he became angry and stopped taking my calls. He would have the receptionist lie and tell me he was not in the office when he actually was. He accused me of changing my mind a lot but that was not accurate. I did change my mind on a couple of occasions when he did such a bad job in court it left me feeling hopeless. He went to court on my behalf only informing me the day before of the court date. He called me after the appearance and went over some things such as spousal support that the magistrate did not want to give me even though it's clear I need and deserve it. He promised an email detailing the court appearance that never came. The biggest problem came when I asked him to prepare a shared parenting agreement. He put it off and put it off for 2 months until 2 weeks before a parenting investigation began. I called him and begged him several days in a row to put together the shared parenting plan for me. He finally got one to me at the end of the week before the investigation began. The language was pretty negative towards the mother (me) including a part where it specifically said the mother was not allowed to attend soccer games for a year. I proceeded to tell his boss how bad of a job he was doing and asked her to take over. I heard nothing back from her except when I spoke to Greg and he was yelling at me about telling his boss on him. He further told me that he wished I would fire him. Then he went on to threaten to file a motion to withdraw as counsel without my signature. I asked for a refund of $2000 I paid them for a custody trial that has not occurred. They are refusing to give me a refund. They know that the $2000 I gave them was the last bit of money I had and they are withholding it just to see my case fail in court. I cannot afford new legal counsel and they know it. He has filed the motion to withdraw as counsel as promised. I don't particularly want to work with someone who isn't working for me but I don't feel like I have any choice but to fight this motion since they won't give me back my $2000. I'd love to find new counsel but like I said, I can't afford it.
