Traci handled a traffic crash charge that was new territory to what I was charged with. Thanks to her research and working with the prosecutor, my charges were reduced and I didn’t incur any points on my license. Traci went above and beyond the work that ended in a positive outcome.

Traci represented my son in a case where false allegations were made against him resulting in a protection order being filed. Traci demonstrated exceptional professionalism, deep knowledge of the law, and a genuine dedication to achieving the best outcome for my son. She showed up early for court, sat and talked with my family and let us know everything to expect. She was able to immediately get the case dismissed. I would not hesitate to use her for counsel again if needed in the future. If you're looking for a personable, knowledgeable, trustworthy attorney who genuinely cares about their clients, Traci is the one to choose.

This may be a bit lengthy but worth reading if you need a confident and knowledgeable attorney who isn't out to just take your money and one who wants to make a positive impact and operate with honesty and integrity. If you are looking for a sign to pick the right attorney to represent you with your case then let this be it. Let me tell you, I went through two different attorneys in the area and by the second one I was so fed up with the treatment and lack of caring I was ready to give up. I was blindsided with a custody battle for my son and felt my situation was being taken advantage of until I met Traci. There are not enough words to express to others how wonderful she is at her job. If you want an attorney that will treat your case like their own then look no further. I never felt like Traci or her staff didn't care about my case. I can't imagine the workload attorneys take on but Traci and her team never let that stop them from keeping me in the loop. I was never caught off guard with each step along the way and that was a big concern for me given my previous experiences. Traci fought swiftly and with confidence to get me the outcome I had hoped for. I'd be lying if I said there wasn't any hiccups along the way but ultimately it was issues that were out of her hand's and even then she kept me informed and talked me through it all. I can't say enough good things about Traci and her staff and I hope anyone who is struggling to find a honest and caring attorney finds Traci just as I did. Thank you again, Traci, Brandi, Sarah, and Toni for all of your hard work to get my time back with my son. I will forever be grateful for you all!

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Should have listened to the other reviews. Factual info to take note of. This office really is just a call center. Nobody will return your calls or messages for 2 months. They will only actually look at your case or work on it the day before a hearing or trial. Traci also showed up late to court and didn't even find me her client to introduce herself. She then withdrew herself from the case a week before trial. Shows her real true colors. She is good at putting on a mask and pretending to be compassionate and aggressive. Neither of which are true. Avoid at all costs!!!! Edited: if you read the review above unlike looking at my case you would notice I said Factual Info to take note of. Nothing I said can be disproven nor did Traci deny any of it. She just jumped straight to money subject typical corrupt lawyer. All money was already paid. Retainer and extra cost for no work from anyone at the office. I totally understand why Brandi your receptionist left.

I have seen Jacob Long for the past 4.5 years, and his professionalism rises high. His advice has ushered me through many a tight spot. I went to a top ten high school and many classmates had perfect scores on the SAT. Many became lawyers, many became doctors, but they are all true to what they do. Mr. Long reflects that image clear as a bell, as his advice is strong and true.

I have had Jacob represent me in the past for a few charges all pending at once. With the advice I got from Jacob and working together with me in order to show myself to the judge, 3 charges got dismissed and one was dropped to a lower charge. He's very informative, trustworthy and direct. He has a very good way of working with his clients and I would highly recommend him and feel confident about my reccomendation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fairfield, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
