We were looking for an attorney familiar w/ Medicaid law, only so that we would not make any mistakes as we spent down our parents' assets when we placed them in a nursing home, fully expecting the entire estate would eventually be spent this way. Laurie opened our eyes about how it was possible to preserve much of their estate, and improve their choices and quality of life. She made it clear how morally the money was still to be used for the benefit of our parents, regardless of who's hands it legally was in. She was their advocate, not the kids. You will be hard pressed to find a harder working attorney. She was great at answering emails. As filing deadlines approached and we were scrambling to assemble documents, she and her staff were great at keeping our morale up through it all. Our dad passed away in the middle of all of this planning, and not only were they sensitive to us, but deftly reworked the plan in short order to accomodate the change. And gave a hefty refund.
