I called Hurley and asked to meet a divorce attorney in Hamilton County. They said that he was in Middletown that day, and asked if I could go to that location. Sure, no problem. -- As I arrived, the attorney said, "I only practice in Butler County. I can't help you." I told him that's no problem, but I would like some advice, and am willing to pay for an hour or so of his time. So, he told me his rate was somewhere in the $300 range, and then rambled for 45 minutes about custody issues and the like, without letting me speak. -- Once I finally got to say something, I told him "This is not about custody, as I don't have kids. It's just an asset division case." Suddenly, his demeanor changed greatly, as did his rates. He told me he's the best divorce attorney in Butler County, the only one who could handle a case like mine, and his rates are $500/hour. -- Yep. That's the moment I realized he's the worst attorney for my case. I need a serious attorney who does not have ethical lapses like this. So I googled "Men's Divorce Attorney Hamilton County", and found a national chain that specializes in men's divorce, including asset division. That experience was completely different. They handled the divorce professionally, billed ethically, and got a fair result. My bad experience with Hurley made me really appreciate the new law firm I found. So in an odd way, Thanks Hurley!
