Horrible experience. Hardly ever hot a phone call back. He didn't put up a fight, he only agreed to what the other lawyer wanted. Total waste of my money. I got another lawyer and she won for me

Greedy firm. I used them for years and paid them a ton of money. After my case was over they represented my husbands ex in court against my husband and myself. I told them it was a conflict of interest and that i did not agree with it. They ignored and still represented her. I quit paying on my balance because they are greedy and unethical people! They then took me to court for my balance but did not allow me to tell the judge what they did to me. They are now garnishing my wages. I have reported them to the Ohio Attorney Board. Do not trust them, they care nothing about Attorney-Client relationships or helping others it is all about money to them!!!

Helping through a rough time. Like that they pay attention to what I need and are there to help and guide me.

I retained Jay for a custody case that it seemed couldn't be lost due to the mountains of evidence in my favor and multiple well respected individuals in my comunity. Jay's lack of competence as a attorney not only cost me financially but more importantly directly aided in the continued abuse and neglect of my children. I have multiple records of emails and phone calls I placed attempting to contact Jay regarding my case, not one of them was replyed to in a acceptable time frame. The two times he did actually respond it six days on one occasion and 10 days on another before he responded in a unhelpful manner. Jay couldn't even remember my children's names throughout is involvement in the case. I have reported Jay to the Ohio State Bar Association for malpractice and ethics violations as well as retained another attorney to file suit in hopes of regaining payment for services Jay is incapable of providing. This man has no place in the sensative family law arena and I feel personally responsibility to make sure I warn anyone considering trusting Jay with the safety of their children not to do it. I have gladly included my name, I feel anonymous reviews lack credibly and I would like for people in the unfortunate situation to be seeking a family law attorney to know my posting is a truthful representation of my experience with Jay Lopez.

I retained Jay Lopez towards the end of 2013, paid a retainer and signed an agreement of representation with his firm (Lopez Severt, and Pratt) with him as my representing attorney in a divorce. I then found that it was very difficult to communicate with Jay. He didn’t return telephone calls, nor return emails with any consistency. He did not keep proper documentations and appeared to have no memory of facts from one hearing to the next. I was forced to terminate the service due to an extreme lack of comfort with his performance. After termination he continued to bill time for items not completed. Recent efforts to confer with Jay Lopez or any of his staff have been met with being completely ignored. He did not present the clear facts of my case to the court, he did not complete action items requested in order to maintain the necessary paper trail I needed for my case, and he did not communicate with me in any way outside of attending three hearings and a deposition. He did attempt to bill me a large amount of money for actions he did not make.
