Pros
1
Excellent legal expertise and strategy
“Lynn knows the law and it shows in how she carries herself with so much poise, confidence, and her work ethic.”
2
Personalized and attentive client service
“We would have meetings to discuss what all would take place in the divorce process, what was actually possible for me to obtain, what I wanted after knowing all my options, and then she would sit there and explain how she planned on getting me the things I needed and wanted.”
3
Aggressive advocacy to protect client's interests
“She let me know that the divorce would be the best thing that ever happened to me. I didn't understand that at first, but now I do. “The best thing she and her staff gave me was piece of mind - I knew I had people in my corner.”
Cons
1
Lack of responsiveness and communication with clients

2
Subpar performance in court
“While Lynn is very personable, her performance in court was sub-par at best.”

Lynn Lampe helped me get a divorce. She cleaned up a mess another attorney got me into. She helped me get my benefits that I was forced to wait five months from a company. Lynn made one call and the check was in the mail. She did excellent work.

My experience not good. Lynn does not get back with her clients. All work that she did on my case was done at the last minute with her and her associate bragging how they "put in an all-nighter." This happened more than once and was the rule with everything they filed. Her exhibits looked unprofessional compared to the opposing attorney. In court she allowed the other side to lie without calling them on it. She stated that the judge would never believe the opposing attorney's obvious lies, yet those lies were quoted as being justification for the judgment rendered. While Lynn is very personable, her performance in court was sub-par at best. I don't understand how she has such positive reviews. I have spoken now with other past clients. Not a single client I have spoken with has a positive thing to say about her or her associate. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Lynn and staff were recommended to be by my friend who is a probate lawyer. I knew right away that Lynn is who I wanted/needed to be my voice in the courtroom when I couldn't speak. I always felt calm and confident sitting outside the courtroom waiting for the results while she litigated the divorce proceedings. I am a very organized, detail oriented, and tough as nails sort of woman, who had been beaten down by my ex-husband (literally and figuratively). I lost all hope as the lawyer I had before Lynn never returned my phone calls, never let me know what the next step was, and didn't have time to listen to what I wanted. I felt lost and as if he viewed me as a paycheck. I am so glad I obtained Lynn and staff as they always let me know what to expect next and what my options were in every situation. Lynn knows the law and it shows in how she carries herself with so much poise, confidence, and her work ethic. We would have meetings to discuss what all would take place in the divorce process, what was actually possible for me to obtain, what I wanted after knowing all my options, and then she would sit there and explain how she planned on getting me the things I needed and wanted. She let me know that the divorce would be the best thing that ever happened to me. I didn't understand that at first, but now I do. She was sure to leave me better off than when I started the process - my anxiety about the future was gone, I gained my confidence back, and she was sure to get me everything that was rightfully mine and never once allowed me to be bullied by my ex-husband again. The best thing she and her staff gave me was piece of mind - I knew I had people in my corner. Tammy, who is the receptionist always made sure I talked to Lynn if I absolutely needed to. Amy, Lynn's assistant, would always email me to gather more information, to ask questions, and was always helpful and friendly. I have already recommended Lynn to two people as she truly is someone you want in your corner.

Lynn is absolutely wonderful. I arrived for my consult with Lynn looking for a replacement for the attorney regarding a very difficult divorce. I was under so much stress and anxiety over my circumstances and was just needing someone who would fight for my kids and I, as previously, this was not the case. After I explained our situation, Lynn told me the options available. I left her office so refreshed and completely worry free! She always performed with great professionalism and confidence at all times. We have currently moved out of state, and she is still available and very much willing to continue to ensure that our needs are being met. I would absolutely recommend Lynn to anyone in need of a client advocate!

I goofed and went before a local Judge whos known for not liking DUIs or gun cases in particular, unrepresented. Long story short Mr. Fox was able to get my sentence reduced by quite a few years after the matter. I paid alot more for alot less in a Legal matter not covered by Mr. Fox elsewhere so I've got to be honest, what Mr. Fox charged me was more than reasonable. He's a down to earth dude too. I remember eating lunch in Downtown Hamilton and he'd be there always cordial with even random Strangers. Yet, he knows Ohio Law and fights for his Clients. He's had several go to Supreme Court so he's not going to just laydown and kiss the ring if the Clients been wronged. Highly recommend. I hope I don't need his service again, but if I do there's no way I'm calling anyone but Mr. Fox.

Mr. Jonathan Fox was retained for my husband's case in 2018. He found that he had been over-sentenced by one year on a prior charge. This error slipped through two attorneys and one judge. Mr. Fox is a highly qualified and experienced attorney who was able to have his sentence corrected and file for a judicial release on his behalf. Mr. Fox is a professional, yet friendly attorney who takes on a personalized approach to bring justice and serve his clients. I highly recommend him for any criminal case. He is the best!

At first I thought it was going to get thrown out then he said he can get it reduced to dangerous driving then he surprised me and got me reduced to physical control with no points on my license 2 years non-reporting probation monthly payments for the court 50 dollars a month. It really helps not to have a criminal background have a clean background check and if you get a ovi operating a vehicle under the influence that you didnt have alot to drink or that your blood alcohol content isnt way over the legal limit. My pee test came back 3 points above the legal limit. He is a awesome attorney at lower cost (Hes really good you could get the same as me if you do have a criminal background and if you do drink alot but it helps if you dont). Thank you very much Jon Fox Ill recommend you to my friends and family. Sorry for the late review.

Jonathan has represented my firm for about 10 years. During that period he has handled all of our legal matters from potential litigation, acquisitions, legal advise, and ultimately the sale of our company. He is by far the most ethical, honest attorney I have ever been associated with. He worked efficiently with our accounting firm and was a mentor to the ownership of our company.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of West Chester, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
