The “D”word is never something anyone plans for their family. It’s an incredibly difficult process to navigate. You need an attorney like Tommy who is empathic, personable, but also a knowledgeable voice of reason when emotions can and will cloud your thoughts. I also respect the firm’s team approach. They will tap into their teams different areas of expertise to get the best outcomes for their clients.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Sarah and Tommy. They turned what had been a 4 1/2 year battle into a quick resolution and they were great at getting guardianship for us! We always felt we were in safe hands! They did an amazing job! Forever grateful!

After being dragged through court for 4 1/2 years in the attempt to continue to keep our very young granddaughter safe and protected in our home, It was/is such a blessing to have been referred to and able to work with Tommy and Sarah and to finally see quick resolution to our case! They are different than the attorneys in the small county in which we live. They don’t play the game of friends/politics/etc. They seriously care about working to win your case, and in our case, they truly worked to achieve the best outcome for the child. They are honest and always keep you apprised of every situation, and what you might expect. They always gave us all of the possibles and all of the information necessary and then gave us the option of choosing which way we wanted to go in court. They were so good to always lead and direct us into the best course of action and we truly felt as though we were safe with them! When dark times come and you find you are in a place where you need an attorney, it is both scary and frustrating. You make call after call in an attempt to find the best attorney available, as you don't know the judicial system and know that you can't leave things to chance. It is a time where you could panic easily and you just need someone to listen to you and take the reins. Adam Banner listened! He walked us through the process, was available, astute, creative and by far one of the best attorneys I have ever worked with. He fought for the best outcome, kept us apprised of every detail, answered our questions and never treated us as if we were bothering him. He involved us in the case and was interested in our input. I can't say enough about his knowledge and abilities. His skill in the court room is outstanding and his "Lets win this together" attitude is refreshing. If you need an attorney, consider Adam. Poor representation for divorce! Lost terribly. It figures, my response didn’t get post here. So i’’ll explain it now so my review will be obvious. Yes, 10 1/2 years later my review gets posted. I did , however make attempts to post reviews much earlier. I was told that they couldn’t be posted, because there was no way to validate my claims. I did settle with agreement at the advice of Chris, because he failed to compel my ex-wife to explain over 90K of marital debt. My frustration was mainly due to the following events: Failure to express my written request pertaining to settling retirement funds. Arguing request for my paying attorney fees for my Ex-wife, when I raised issue, I was told that it was not attorney fees, but expenses from the house ( co-counsel hired by Chris). When my ex-wife was awarded $5,000 in attorney fees, Chris told me not to worry about it, we’d get back ( never did). I was billed thousands of dollars for prep, and it was for nothing. Chris received a request for over $90K of marital debt that I had no knowledge of, and failed to compel my ex-wife to explain those expenses. This resulted in me having to settle for a fraction of what I should have the day of the trial. I lost access to claims on a annuity,  Chris also failed to compel her to disclose assets and accounts. Got great advice on how to handle a traffic ticket from Garrett. Even though we never signed an engagement letter, I still felt like he was concerned about my problem and helped me get to the correct resolution (case dismissed). Wish I could give more than 5 stars, as after our call a huge weight came off my shoulders.

If I could give the Smith Law Firm more than 5 stars I would. Mr. Tommy Pfeil was my attorney in a family matter involving my son. The man took my case on a short notice. From the minute I hired him, he fought for me every step of the way. He treated me like I was family and relieved the stress of the situation. Everyone at the Smith Firm is amazing. We had the opportunity to work with Tommy, Chris, and Sarah. Each of them assisted in getting my child custody case back on track after having a horrible start with less than adequate legal representation. They definitely came in and cleaned up without hesitation! Once things were set on the right course we primarily worked with Tommy. He’s thorough and detailed consistently. All of our questions were promptly answered as they arose, as well as any concerns addressed. There was even an emergency that sent me into total mom mode on a weekend and Tommy was still available to answer due to the immediate need. There were several instances where I was severely anxious and triggered due to this being a DV case that had spanned over a timeframe of four years. Each time Tommy was patient and kind. He walked me through each situation step by step and always ensured that the safety of my child as well as myself was the top priority. I am extremely happy with the results of the case and feel that my child’s best interest was protected to the full extent of the law. Although sacrifices were made, they were not unexpected. Tommy was always upfront and transparent about the intricacies of our case and far surpassed our expectations in many ways. Other things worth noting: If you are a woman leaving a dv situation know that this firm will make you feel safe and properly advise you throughout the entire tenure of your case. They are more than willing to go the extra mile by walking you into a meeting, waiting to make sure you get to your car safely after, ensuring parties are kept separate if needed, etc.

Highly recommend! From the first call phone call, I immediately felt in safe hands. Each member of the team was willing to go above and beyond. I specifically worked with Jonathan and Madison and there is not enough praise to be said about them.
