It is a difficult and nerve-wracking when you face legal council alone in order to resolve a negative issue. Ignoring the situation will only make things worse in the long run. I was comforted by a compassionate lawyer who took the time to care enough and help my family and I walk through the tough times. I not only felt relieved but I also no longer felt alone. Their kindness, support, and affordable legal fees were just the icing on the cake. It was what came from the heart you could not put a price tag on. It has been many years since I have utilized them, but their advice has changed and continually changes my life on a regular basis. What I have learned from them has allowed me to apply their wisdom when I am confronted by negative situations and gives me hope in finding practical resolutions. I am financially better off because of their help and my determination to live positively and without worry. This law firm was the catalyst to my success. I strongly recommend Grant D. Glynn.

Paid them twice for no result. They had me file twice and pay them twice. In the end, my case was not completed for something they should have known. The first time everything was set and ready, but they asked me to let the case get dismissed so that it would be easier for them to re-file (of course a second attorney fee from me with no discount whatsoever) my case in order to adjust my income due to a divorce. Well, this woke up all of the creditors and I am in worse shape now than when I started. Thanks

Grant went above and beyond what would be expected of a lawyer in my situation. He not only helped me through my bankruptcy but then the months after when creditors that I was not aware of continued to come after me he was still easy to get a hold of, had them contact him and took care of it in a timely manner. He handled everything professionally and courteously which made this hard time in my life a lot easier to get through.

I was at the end of my rope with bills piled up to an astonishing degree due to personal problems and a limited income. Grant treated me with respect, and was frank and candid in the advice he gave me. His advice on bankruptcy, as well as his guidance through the process, literally changed my life. Today, after discharge from bankruptcy, my life has taken a new turn. Thanks to Grant treating me as someone who should not be judged but rather informed and helped, I am out of debt and leading a good life. I cannot think of a better lawyer and one who is exceptionally informed and personable as well. I have recommended Grant to others and recommend him to you if you need his services.

We had very unusual circumstances in our bankruptcy case. Grant was the only attorney that was even willing to help us out and offer us any hope. Thanks to him we were able to save our home. Grant is very knowledgable and does an excellent job of keeping you informed of what is happening and when. He took on our problems head on and did a great job arguing our case. He went above and beyond his responsibilities to help. He is truly a kind-hearted person. We are extremely glad to know that there are people like him around yet.

Bryan Alred was effective and skilled, experienced, persistent, personable. He surpassed expectations. His knowledge was immediately apparent and impressive. I absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of his services. He guides you through the process step by step, providing updates and explanations, striking the perfect balance between making sure you're making the decisions, yet not throwing you into the deep end having to make decisions you lack the experience to assess.

Bryan is honest, and he delivered accordingly to what he anticipated. He even got us back more money than we originally discussed. It was evident through working with him that he has been in the game for a long time. I fully trust his advice and experience. Grateful to have him on our side. State farm was not wanting to pay when they found out we were both insured with them. Bryan stood up for us and held State Farm accountable for damages that occurred when we were in an accident.

Mr Alred is a professional and an expert in his field. I was injured in a car accident and mr Alred took care of my whole case. I didn't have to deal with a difficult insurance company one time. He would always keep me updated on what was going on and got me my settlement quite fast- and the amount I wanted. I would definitely return to him for any legal needs.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
