In my most challenging hour, when others had failed me or actively sought to undermine my pursuit of justice, I was fortunate to find a lawyer whose actions echoed the virtues of an honorable yet often overlooked historical figure: Roger Williams, the founder of Providence Colony. Just as Williams upheld his principles against the prevailing norms of his time, Jeff Bacon exemplified courage, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to fairness in a legal battle fraught with adversity. While many in the colonies treated Native Americans with disdain, Roger Williams looked beyond prejudice. He forged relationships based on respect, understanding, and shared humanity, enabling him to secure the land for Providence peacefully and honorably. In much the same way, Jeff Bacon chose to see through the defamatory claims and pressure tactics employed by opposing counsel, Mark Graziano. Where others might have hesitated, Mr. Bacon stood firm, refusing to be swayed by baseless accusations—claims that absurdly painted me as a member of the “Canadian Mafia” or a danger to those around me. Instead of faltering, Mr. Bacon embodied ethical fortitude. He took on my case with empathy and honesty, defending me against tactics that would have discouraged even the most seasoned attorneys. In doing so, he exposed the games being played and shone a light on the unfair pressures that had plagued my pursuit of justice. Though he may not yet possess decades of experience, Mr. Bacon’s strength of character—his respect, steadfastness, and dedication—set him apart as truly invaluable. Under an impossible timeline and amid immense pressure, he provided me with the legal representation I not only needed but deserved. His actions remind me that courage and integrity can prevail, even in the most trying of circumstances.

I do not normally do reviews but when my life got changed for the better by this amazing law firm and Attorney, I had to write one!! I used Stratton Family Law for my Divorce and Child Custody Battle. I live out of state, and they were amazing throughout the whole process. They made sure to stay in contact with me and did not slack or fall behind on paperwork or communications. My Attorney Lillian Doyle was the absolute best. It was like working with someone that truly cared about what was going on. She made sure that not only I was taken care of, but she took into consideration my daughter as well. Lillian made sure that I understood the whole process from start to finish. She was kind but very firm in the courtroom and helped me win an almost 2-year battle. Without Lillian I do not know what I would have done. Thank you all again so much from the bottom of my heart. Both parties came out unscathed in the end and that is all the most of us can hope for in a Divorce and Child Custody Battle that things go smooth, and no blow-ups happen. I cannot say enough nice and positive things about the Stratton Law Firm as well as my Attorney Lillian Doyle. 5+ stars all day long!!

I did a lot of research before selecting Tiffany Graves as my attorney, and I am very pleased with my choice. She has gone above and beyond to make sure my case is handled well. She communicates wonderfully. I've never felt out of the loop. She's a good balance of knowledgeable, professional, and understanding. I've recommended her to several people and will continue to do so.

He was wonderful! He had me go ahead and do the victim impact panel, see the DUI Assessor, and complete the DUI school before the court has required it which reflected well with the judge. I was able to avoid losing my license as well as avoid having an interlock device. I would recommend Chase Overstreet to anyone needing an arrorney!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
