He came to Woodward fresh out of law school and was my court appointed attorney. He did his best but JR Madden became JR Moss. Ramona Moss Walker and Gerald Moss''s son. He is my and Bob Maddens' son. That poor man has had so much change in His life. It's ridiculous. I backed off. I left Woodward artery the Christmas Tree had cobwebs on it. I was sued so many times ;it's ridiculous. You know what Money talks . Buys the legal system. I tried Mike tried his best. Roberta L Box

I would absolutely recommend Garrett Oates to anyone. Super personable and an all around amazing, caring man. He has helped me twice now and always gave me the best advice. He cared about my case and got it done so incredibly fast. He is my attorney for life (I hope I never need him) but if I do, he will never disappoint.

There were multiple ways that I feel I was underrepresented in my divorce case. My particular case was difficult with a lot of extenuating circumstances. I don't believe that he fully understood or exploredmy case and the legal grounds that I had with which to fight for my custody rights and financial assets. I incurred monetary and personal damages in regards to my kids under his counsel. I have come to this conclusion through research into my case post-divorce. I am currently working on seeking further legal advice and on making modifications to the existing decree. As a result, I have consulted with several respected attorneys in the metro area. I have learned more about my case and Oklahoma law as time has passed, and while consulting with other attorneys, I have asked specific questions regarding my case and the law. The answers I have received have shed light on legal options and opportunities that were available to me both now and at the time of my divorce. Yet, the options and opportunities I have pinpointed were never presented to me while going thru my divorce. I get the impression now that this might have been his first case with complications such as mine, or certainly one of his first. He convinced me right and left that I didn't have a strong case to go to court, and encouraged me that I should accept what I could get and move on considering the circumstances. In reality he should have advised me to stop the case altogether until I had fully recovered from a major surgery and the influence of a mentally and emotionally abusive ex-husband. I also deserved the opportunity to get settled into life with a job (I was a stay-at-home mom before the divorce) and a place to live. These factors all qualify as reasons of duress in Oklahoma and give a person the option of waiting to settle a divorce until after the duress has lessened or stopped. He could have also referred me to an attorney within Cleveland County, since he knew I my first priority would be relocating there soon to be close to my kids. Any further legal representation post-divorce (which I knew I was going to revisit the decree and pursue changing parts of it) would require me to get an attorney in Cleveland County anyway, so given I needed time to recover, time to find a job, and to relocate, that would have made the best sense. My desires and legal rights would have been much better represented after a period of time had passed. I believe his billing was accurate and fair, as it appeared correctly represented through the documentation of my bill. However, I feel like it was obvious on his part that I should have waited and that it was his job to present this important option under the circumstances. Even if it meant he would lose my business by recommending I wait, or by presenting to me that legal option, I think it was clear that this information was merited to be shared. Unfortunately, it was not. I look back now and I know with certainty that extra time would have changed the kind of decree I signed off on. I would have understood my case, my rights, and where I stood in fighting for those rights if granted the opportunity to recover from the major duress I was under.

Hire this man if you want to, but I highly recommend that you DON'T. He is completely over priced for the work he does. My case should have been opened and closed but instead Mike wasted $3000 of mine trying to get me to settle when I told him from the beginning (And many other times) that I did not want to settle. I found a lawyer that did more with $300 than Mike did with $3000. He would email me then call me to tell me the same thing that the email said and was double charging me for the same information. When I inquired Mr. Stake about double charging me, he sent me an email stating that I was not in compliance of his contract.
