Exceptional service from start to finish

This guy is a crook. I was referred to him via the OSB. The idea is that the initial consultation is cheap & then you pay his hourly rate. I met with 2 other lawyers previously & was lucky I did. Yes, the first visit is cheaper but his hourly rate $350, was the most expensive and he doesn’t charge a different rate for paralegal. He also just was unpleasant to talk to in general. First he was asking me a lot of questions to see if “I would be a good client for him,” if he isn’t sure he can handle a simple divorce case it makes him seem incompetent. He tried to lead the whole conversation. I had to interject multiple times requesting for my own questions to be answered. None of the other meetings I had were like this. I felt like he thought I was at his mercy… when in actuality I’m the one hiring, not him.. Then it seemed like he was trying to prey on my emotions and fears. Literally planting seeds. Lucky for me again, that both of the other lawyers alleviated the fears he was trying to prey on. I ended up feeling insulted by him and letting him know that while he thinks I’m a good match for him, he’s not one for me. This guy is total slime and should be ashamed of himself for preying on low income communities.

Avoid this lawyer and his law firm AT ALL COSTS. We hired Ben Evans to help my mother through her divorce from her abusive ex-husband, and let me tell you: working with him was one of the most infuriating and aggravating experiences of our lives. Not only was this illiterate, degenerate lawyer unresponsive with laser-consistency, but he was always wildly impatient and rude to my mother. He never did any of the paperwork that he said he was going to do; my mother ended up doing most of it herself. He tried to convince my mother to give up most of the very reasonable things she was asking for from the divorce judge. It almost seemed like Ben Evans was colluding with my mother's ex-husband. Ben Evans never once showed even so much as an iota of care for his client. Ben always behaved as if we were a massive drain on his life and as if we should worship every breath he exhaled. He acted like a pretentious, defiant pre-teen. My mother's English isn't the best, and we're a very poor family, so we dug deep into what little money he had left to hire this clown. He caused my mother so much additional stress to the point that we ended up paying Ben Evans the full amount just so we could fire him on the spot and rid ourselves of the malignant tumor he had become in our lives. If you are a woman, or an immigrant, or struggling financially, and seeking help from a lawyer: do NOT hire this arrogant insect of a man. He will only cause you to lose tens of thousands of dollars with ZERO results. (Note: All of this is my personal experience and opinion.)

I would like to start by saying if you've never had a lawyer before (particularly for parenting plans & separations), you need to prepare yourself for the reality of how our judicial system works. I went into this whole thing angry, demanding my Lawyer (Benjamin), to do everything in his power to make all of my demands happen. This is unrealistic & no Lawyer can make ANYTHING happen. So please, go into these things with realistic expectations. Benjamin enlightened me on the "Do's and Don'ts", when it comes to the law & how judges will look at how you represent yourself. Because of him, we were able to get things done right & everyone was happy in the end. Benjamin is a very kind, patient, and knowledgeable individual when it comes to Oregon law & statute. He was on top of things throughout my entire case, and every time there was a potential issue, he communicated openly with me helping to solve the issue. If it weren't for Benjamin, I don't think I would have the time I do now with my son. When you compare his payment per hour, with how difficult it was to navigate this judicial system during covid, and how much work was involved to get my case settled - I would say it's one of the best damn deals I have ever gotten. This is a lawyer who can give you realistic outcomes for a reasonable costs, and he will make you feel supported by each decision you make regarding your case. I give him 5/5 stars and would highly recommend. Thank you Ben, and I hope you have a wonderful Holiday/new year!

Mr Benjamin Evans was very professional with a lot of knowledge. He made working on a (my) “difficult” situation a little less stressful for myself and he took on all the frontline work. His hard work did not go unnoticed during my time with him. Mr Evans was attentive in my requests, positive and professional, easy to work with, kind and honest. I would use him again in the future and I highly recommend his services.

Very poor service. His communication is only efficient when it comes to collecting payments. He will not defend your interests properly. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. There's better and more affordable service out there.

Extremely poor service. I highly discourage hiring him for your family law affairs, especially if you are a mom trying to get custody of your child. Only likes to communicate through emails. Doesn't really offer phone calls, zoom calls or office visits. He exaggerates on the bill statement and charges unreasonably. Be careful if he happens to be friends with the opposing counsels (as Oregon is a small state), he will rather sympathize with them than defend your interest. Definitely explore more affordable and reliable services if you want to win your case. This firm is NOT recommended.
