Scott was amazing and straight forward with me! I don’t like lawyers that beat around the bush! He told me exactly what I need to do and what I should expect with my case. It literally was quick and easy process for me and my case! I contacted him July 24ish my case was filed about 3 weeks and now it’s over in less than two months. I am finally breathing fresh air in my life – and I owe this new chapter to the diligence and astute legal advice I received from Scott Hutchinson. Legal matters can be tremendously sensitive and complex (especially in my case) and Scott’s thoroughness resulted in a truly fresh start for me: a new chapter, entirely. His attention to detail was not simply about maximizing exemptions or looking for loopholes to support my situation – he wanted to make certain that all aspects of my unique situation were in compliance with the laws (which often change year over year) during every step of the process. This certainty of legal compliance is otherwise its own landscape of fear and anxiety... Having read through a couple other reviews of his firm, I do feel it necessary to acknowledge that his legal counsel is less about “offering a sensitive shoulder and empathy for the situation” (which I understand that many people seek and should certainly be sought out via friends, family, other support channels) but the tasks on Scott's shoulders are primarily to keep all of the numbers aligned perfectly so that there is no doubt as the process moves along-- correctly. I felt tremendous comfort knowing that his level of attention, care, and experience was guiding me to the best possible outcome. I recommend him and appreciate the transparency, effort, and integrity with which he operates his firm.

If you’re looking to file bankruptcy and for an attorney that is extremely thorough, but also makes the process as easy and stress free as possible, you need to hire Scott. I had consultations with a few other lawyers before Scott, but man am I glad I decided to meet with him before making a decision. He walked me through every step of the way, and made sure I was more than prepared. He made sure I knew what to expect and coached me for the hearing (which went so extremely smooth), made sure I understood all of the paperwork and deadlines, AND offered a payment plan that is super affordable. I don’t think there’s a better more affordable attorney in the Vancouver/Portland area. Highly recommend!

I got referred to scott, and am do glad I did! He was super personable, easy to talk to, and always available. He was very thorough with paperwork and emails which made me feel really confident and made the hearing go super smooth. I've never hired a lawyer nor filed bankrupcy before and was sooooo anxious about the process - but, Scott helped me feel at ease and we spent a lot of time being super detailed in the paperwork we submitted.
