I contacted Shlesinger & deVilleneuve in January of 2019 after being stuck by a car in October 2018. The person who backed up over my left foot and leg twice had full coverage from Geico, but Geico had never contacted me about paying my for my ambulance ride and other medical bills so that's why I contacted Shlesinger & deVilleneuve. I was placed in the good hands of Shayla Steyart and was able to go to her office that very afternoon. Shayla was kind, understanding, and profoundly knowledgeable in personal injury law. Over the next several months she worked diligently on my case advising me and keeping me informed every step of the way. We ultimately decided in the Fall of 2019 to file a lawsuit since Geico was not very cooperative. Then Covid-19 hit the nation which impacted court dates, etc. Still Shayla persisted and ultimately got me a settlement in July 2020 without having to go to court afterall. I will be eternally grateful for Shayla's hard work on my behalf. But more than that, I will be grateful for her kindness and good humor as she walked this journey with me. Needing an attorney for any situation can be stressful. She is an expert in clear communication and easily explained complex issues, terms, legal implications and options in the execution of the guardianship. When called or emailed, Sarah’s responsiveness was surprisingly fast. Thanks to Sarah’s expertise and knowledge of Lane County’s court procedural system and her consistent, timely communications, the entire process from start to finish was much quicker than I anticipated. The costs of services were very reasonable and highly competitive with other law firms. Yet, there is no comparison for the personal, individualized service every person in their office provided us during difficult times in our lives. The professionalism, caring attitude, ability to make complex law understandable, responsiveness and expertise provided by Sarah was priceless.
