I contacted Mr Lewinter regarding an employment matter. He seemed interested in that matter and send me the retainership to sign. After i had signed the retainership and sent it back to him he decided not to proceed with my case and choose to recommend other lawyers knowing very well that i had only few weeks left to meet the statute of limitations. In the process, i have already missed valuable weeks and none of the lawyers referred by Mr lewinter seemed interested in my case. Lawyers are normally educated and respected professionals but such instances have shaken my belief. I might even refer this incident to the state bar and this review should serve as a warning to other potential clients exactly what they might be getting into if they choose to hire Mr Lewinter.

I am a former Oregon Administrative Law Judge and currently have a successful Utah law practice doing civil and criminal law. Lissa appeared before me years ago in DUII administrative hearings in Oregon. She was always prepared and knowledgeable about what arguments and challenges to make to avoid DMV license suspension actions for her clients. She's good on paper and in the courtroom. DUII law can be convoluted and impenetrable and she had a strong grasp of the case law and relevant issues based on the given facts of a case. I recently retained Lissa to handle a criminal matter for my son in Portland. It was a serious matter. After discussions with the assigned DA Lissa successfully persuaded the DA to "no file/charge" the case prior to the first hearing. Most clients are not even aware that their attorneys can do legwork after a police officer cites/arrests the suspect but before a screening prosecutor actually decides whether to bring charges against a defendant to avoid the charges altogether against their clients. Good attorneys work hard in this phase by introducing exculpatory factual evidence (tending to prove innocence) or arguing that the alleged facts don't match the legal elements of a crime and that it would be difficult for the State to carry its burden of convincing a jury to convict beyond a reasonable doubt. Lissa got it done with my son! I'm in a position to know the difference between a garden variety criminal defense attorney and a top shelf criminal defense attorney. Lissa was mentored many years ago by one of the top criminal trial attorneys in the state. She has built-on that knowledge base and experience by taking on high profile cases and unpopular clients. The maxim that "you get what you pay for" is never more true than in criminal defense. The cost-benefit analysis is not that hard when you're facing possible jail/prison time, license suspensions, fines/restitution, and other collateral consequences like divorce, job loss, etc. Hire Lissa. You'll be glad you did.

Lissa went beyond expectations. She followed through and beyond to help me understand. She gracefully stayed consistent and patient as we worked together to reach the best outcome. To the last detail, she helped me stay calm and understanding when I felt the situation could be dire. In short, I feel that it was one of the better decisions I've made legally to get her to represent talent in my corner. I'd keep her on retainer if I was a betting man. She's a great teammate.

A Great Attorney Gets The Job Done

I cannot possibly express how highly I'd recommend Lissa. I needed help navigating a very difficult, horrifying situation and she was there every step of the way. She has a very reassuring, yet tenacious presence and was up for everything that we had to fight against. We eventually had a hearing, and knowing that she was fighting for me in the courtroom put me at ease in an unfamiliar situation. She has an amazing attention to detail, is incredibly personable, and I was always able to get in contact with her. One very big factor for me was that she worked so hard to make me feel safe again.
