Ms Landi had 1 conversation with me over the phone, in which she was obsessed with my mental health. I was transparent in regards to my need for therapy after 10 years of abuse, as anyone would need, and requested that the facts and the truth be used as a defense. I also stressed how this false charge was the only thing inhibiting me to gain closure. I did not conform to her desire to formulate a mental defense and pressed to be given a trial with my own peers as all citizens have a right to. That resulted in Ms Landi lying to me, saying that the upcoming hearing was for her to request a continuance, when in fact she requested a fitness to proceed without any substantial justification. This "defender" has now paused the trial and has created unsurmountable trauma, knowing full well I am a survivor of abuser retaliation and DARVO tactics. She based her justification on "observations" of me...when in fact we have never met. As well as the fact I had emailed the DA per the guidance of Klamath Sheriff dept in order to have charges pressed against the ones that filed fraudulent orders against me. Ms Landi then withdrew, stating also that we had ethical differences. To me, that is breaking one of the rules that lawyers are to follow, in that, they are not to withdraw in such a way their client is left in a bad light. Since then, I have had to attend a hearing, unrepresented and now I am in the court in which mentally ill people are tried in. My case was put out another month as I am not represented and I am still facing the fitness to proceed hearing, even though Ms. Landi never had a just reason to cause this level of trauma in my life. Observing the proceedings as I waited for my turn, I noted that Ms. Landi seemed to be the main defender that handled fitness to proceed suspects. This process is highlighted in an article on the Oregon State Bar website and defines Ms. Landi's practices to a T. Fitness to proceed requests are becoming common practice with lawyers that want to 'clear the courtroom' or may have clients that actually require work. I will be pushing to have Ms Landi held liable for her frivolous and unjust request and the mental and fiscal damage it has, as continues to create.

She is wonderful

We met with Rebecca Whitney-Smith regarding a case. She agreed to accept it and review. Spent quite a bit of money for phone calls to get questions answered, faxing her requested document. Over nighting her other materials. For her to literally. Oh I don't have time.. she wasted months of our time not to mention got paid to do absolutely NOTHING!!! She never even looked at anything that she requested. She wasted oyr time and money. Very disappointed. Do not recommend

The law office of Rebecca Whitney Smith has represented me in a number of matters over the last five or six years. She and her staff have treated my cases fairly and with the professionalism one would expect. They continue to serve my needs and I would recommend the firm to anyone looking for legal services.

Rebecca & her staff went above & beyond to help both of my children & helped with the safety of my grandchildren. Rebecca & Rachelle are very prompt with answering phone calls & emails. They are very caring, compassionate & reliable about the circumstances they are given. Their advice has been spot on. If ever needed again, Rebecca would be my attorney hands down. Attorney Whitney-Smith handled a very difficult divorce for me. It’s hard to put into words how kind and compassionate she was in a time when I desperately needed support. She was professional and thorough, making sure that I knew what my rights were and what I should and should not expect in the dissolution of the marriage. The most unprofessional, unethical attorney who should not be licensed. She hires incompetent paralegals that have no training in safety, domestic violence etc. the office puts victims in further danger. Warning to anyone working with this office!

Does not respond to emails. No communication. Trying to ask if she was going to take my case after months of waiting. Still no response but sends a invoice for payment.

Does not communicate with client. Her office has repeatedly said they would look into things and then not once called back. They were supposed to send paperwork 4 months ago and have not. Sent a bill for a consult that was already paid for. If her office didn't want to take our money and do the job they should have just told us rather than just putting us on the back burner. Highly disappointed and dissatisfied. Do not recommend unless you enjoy being treated like your money isnt green.

Megan Landi actually cared about my case. Listened and kept in contact with me which is rare in the legal world.
