Warning!! Billable hours are overcharged, double charged, incorrectly charged. If you attempt to discuss the items billed for, amount of time charged or the duplicate charges Maryanne Pitcher will string you along. Will schedule a time to discuss and review the bill to appease you then cancel the meeting. Doing this repeatedly. After numerous attempts to resolve the incorrect and over billing my case was dropped, the firm sued and sent the charges in question to collections. They also send other clients case information to the wrong person. I received other clients case documents to my address. Maryanne was confrontational, belittling, and condescending. Will be contacting state bar as others in the reviews. As well as contacting another attorney referred to me that has been successful resolving issues with the firm for Maryanne’s practices. I am willing to pay for accurate hours spent working on my case before the firm dropped it but not double, inaccurate, or overcharges. Spent around $10,000 with the firm for them to drop my case, sue me for charges I refused to pay, for services Maryanne avoided discussing and resolving. If you are already a client, communicate everything in writing so your requests are documented. I quickly learned that discussions with Maryanne verbally would be later denied, taken out of context, or I would be accused of saying something I didn’t. If you are looking for representation and reading this before you choose there are several other very good reputable firms in the valley. It is worth waiting for a consultation. Legalities are stressful, find an attorney or firm that can treat you respectfully. That you can trust with your case and money.

I had an unfortunate experience with this firm. I paid $325 for a consultation with attorney Maryanne Pitcher, but after waiting over an hour, I ended up meeting with someone else who left their firm shortly after. This individual requested an additional retainer fee, despite the fact that I had not received the initial consultation as promised. When I raised my concerns about not having met with Maryanne, my case was dismissed. I find this situation to be quite disappointing and believe it is important to bring attention to it, so others may be aware of my experience. I intend to take steps to ensure accountability with the state board on their dishonesty.

I payed 5k for help in my divorce case. They showed up to court once and then dropped me after they said I was gonna lose my case. I had cops and dhs backing me up and they did nothing. They then filed stuff on my behalf after dropping me and changed me for 3k. They then sued me and I didn't know I even had to go to court because they sent it to my old address... they are a scam and I hope they get shut down.

Bad service. Will cancel your appointment after waiting for weeks to tell you they can’t take your case. Everyone is clueless and aren’t able to provide any information. Unacceptable for anyone to go through this after depending on them and assuming they would see you. Do not recommend this place for anyone.

Waited over 2 weeks for an appointment that was scheduled on a Saturday. When the appointment date came it was a no show from Rise Law Firm. Me and another person that was also waiting outside to be seen received no communication and we were both left unseen. Monday I called, and Law Firm gave me no explanation and only scheduled me for a Wednesday Appt. On Tuesday I received an email stating that they will process a full refund, but they are unable to take my case. This is ridiculous that a firm will make you wait for an appt, do a no show then reschedule the appt to then say they cannot accept the case. I have now lost 3 weeks and need to now wait for another law firm to see me. Worst Service EVER.

Maryanne and the rest of the rise law firm are nothing short of excellent. They work hard to get you through your legal circumstances and educate you along the way. I will be forever grateful to Maryanne..

A little explanation about our sliding scale. We do advertise and honor our sliding scale. The sliding scale is for our hourly rate. The sliding scale is quoted by our attorneys at our client meeting based on the attorney's expertise and experience and our rates at that time. Our retainers are also usually lower than the local average. I cannot speak to this instance, as I do not know the situation or who the potential client was but based on the complexity of the case, we might quote a higher retainer. If this person feels this was dishonest, I would be happy to refund their $100 consult fee if they come into my office and ask for me. We also have a policy that we don't allow friends or family in a consult, but this just applies to the initial consult. We do this to protect the potential client's confidentiality. If we allow others in, then the conversation is not considered confidential. WE understand the importance of friends and family members in our client's lives and take time later to answer family and friend's questions if they still exist after the consult. I would just reiterate that three of these reviews are from people who either didn't meet with us, have second hand information, or met with us and chose not to retain. Thank you for your feedback. WE are none of us perfect, although we strive for perfection. We take all concerns to heart and hope to do better in the future and make our fee structures clearer to potential clients. UPDATE: Neither of the individuals last name "Snook" who have offered their thoughts on my representation were client's of mine. They are opposing parties in a matter where I successfully represented the other side.
