Our insurance company would not pay for a fairly large claim having to do with a family member's mental illness. Marc recently helped us get together the correct documents, plus wrote letters proving the legitimacy of our claim. Besides that, he was caring and understanding about the stresses our family went through. The insurance company ended up paying for their fair share of the claim, which is all we were asking for. We appreciate the diligence and caring shown by Marc Johnston.

I got into a wreck in 2016, called marc, he called me in and we talked about everything involving the accident. He gave me a straight up answer, so i used him to represent me. In 2017, i was hit again, he represented me on this one also. The whole process was seamless. Anytime i had a question they answered it very quickly. I was referred to Marc from a friend, who had a very favorable outcome with his services. After seeing all of Marc's reviews and especial the peer reviews, I decided to try his free consultation, to see if he could help. Marc listened to my issue and happily gave me some advice. There was no pressure for a retainer and he recommended I try a couple of avenues first and then hire him if they didn't work. His advice worked great and I was able to get things settled on my own. I'm almost certain it wouldn't have worked in my favor, if it wasn't for Marc's help. It was very refreshing to have an attorney who wants to help and not just take your money. I will definitely use Marc in the future and won't hesitate to refer him to anyone else.

A Very Effective Negotiator: I found Marc Johnston online and then after our initial meeting hired him to represent me with several insurance companies that should have reimbursed me for my out of pocket costs. Marc was very adept at applying appropriate and increasing pressure on the insurance companies. Marc was very good about keeping me informed about what he was doing on my behalf and his opinion on what next steps to take. Ultimately the insurance companies settled before we filed a lawsuit. The outcome settlement was quite a bit more than I had hoped or expected. I was very happy not to go through the time and expense of a lawsuit. My opinion and experience with the Johnston Law Firm was nothing but positive. I was out running on a road above Portland's Forest Park, Skyline Drive. I choose to to stay off roads, would rather run trails. I was running against traffic coming at me for a best view for a short distance back to my car, about 3/4 of a mile. A vehicle traveling in the same direction I was running crossed the center lane, made a hard turn to avoid hitting me but caused there vehicles rear end to knock me into a ditch filled with rocks. I spent 9 days in an ER, unconscious and followed with 3 separate Rehab facilities. I suffered a traumatic head injury that thankfully is continuing to minimize. I was on disability leave from work for 6 months. I was very fortunate, could have been much worse. Marc Johnston of the Johnston Law Firm has been an asset to my business, my family and myself. I first contacted Marc in 2011 because my health insurance company was refusing to pay thousands of dollars in medical bills I had incurred. At the end of hope and looking at having a debt that would cause incredible strain on my finical situation, I desperately searched for an attorney that I could trust and that would fight for me. The Johnston Law Firm represented my sister and me on a case against an insurance company who wanted to deny our rightful benefits to our Father’s life insurance policy that he had paid into for 30 years. I would highly recommend you reach out to him if you need his service. Old review: This is not a review of Marc Johnston or his services as a lawyer. I was looking up a lawyer for an insurance claim and his firm was the first suggestion. After going to his website there were many areas that claimed that they handle the type of claim I needed a lawyer for. I called the number and the first woman I spoke with told me that they don’t so I pointed out that the website says that they do she responded with a snobbish attitude that I can call the Oregon Bar and quickly hung up with me. Feeling dismissed, I decided to check the website a little more thoroughly and it does in fact say that they do. I called back and spoke with a different woman who connected me with their paralegal, she also said that they don’t handle those type of claims and recommended a lawyer for me. You shouldn’t advertise that you handle claims that you in fact don’t. You should also train your ladies answering the phones about professionalism and how to use better manners when speaking with someone.
