Mark is an outstanding DUII defense attorney. Last winter I had a very unfortunate motor vehicle accident with two young children in the back, the worst moment of my life. It was also the beginning of a steep learning curve, a long road of surprises and suffering, and a lesson in learning when to trust which attorney. Although I was not cited at the accident, police did later cite me with DUII and other related charges. As is apparently common, they were assumptive and cruel. I received advice to go forward without legal representation, but I did not want to be unrepresented facing possible devastating consequences. After a large amount of research, both with the state bar and via Internet, I personally interviewed five attorneys, including Mr Cogan. After these initial interviews, I received multiple correspondences, at my home address, from attorneys who identified the charges and solicited my business. Although I found these correspondences to be in bad taste, I also interviewed five of these. They were full of promises, including that they could have the entire case dismissed, and they were all less expensive than Mr Cogan. However, of all the interviews, Mr Cogan made no promises except that he would do his best and he struck me as the most reasonable, realistic, and experienced. He made clear that each case is different and would be reviewed individually by the courts. As I went through this process, I met many others going through similar processes. Mr Cogan's representation was correct. Some individuals with DUIIs, including some who had not had accidents, spent long periods of time in jail and were seemingly unable to move away from the court's oversight and back into freedom. Unlike the law enforcement officials I encountered, Mr Cogan treated me with kindness. To him, I was fellow human being who needed his professional services, care, and representation. He remained formal, ensured that I was never alone in court, and was a constant reminder that this would pass. His knowledge and expertise allowed him to provide advice specific to my circumstance, which I followed, allowing him to provide the courts with the information and documentation needed to obtain the best possible outcome. Mr Cogan actively explored all possible avenues of defense. He reviewed police and medical records. He challenged the Implied Consent suspension. He negotiated with the prosecution. And, he was my champion when we appeared in court. As information, Mr Cogan even successfully negotiated exclusion of the endangering children accusation. He promptly answered my emails and my phone inquiries at all times, even outside of normal business hours, with thoroughness and patience. He provided me with reassurance that I had a defender who cared about me as a person, and who was resourceful and dedicated to accomplishing a successful outcome. Mr Cogan demonstrated that he is a devoted and highly professional advocate. Even after my case was over, he and his staff continued to assist me meeting in any following obligations including hand delivering required documents to the court. I highly recommend Mr Cogan to any person who is seeking legal representation. And, I highly recommend following his advice.

Mark was there every step of the way for me. His knowledge in the laws and confidence meant so much to me. He led me through a very difficult legal situation with care and concern for me and reassured me every time I had a question.
