I am a recently retired Portland attorney who turned to Thomas, Coon, Newton and Frost, for help in resolving 2 of my remaining cases. One was a workers’ compensation case where the client had lost both of his hands, and the other was a construction accident where the client was permanently blinded in both eyes and suffered other serious injuries as well. Chris Frost helped me to successfully resolve the comp case before I retired. Ray Thomas, Jim Coon, and Cynthia Newton brought the other case to a very successful conclusion after I had retired. Both were difficult cases and in each instance, the lawyers and staff at the firm demonstrated great skill, determination, and heart. As a service-connected disabled vet, I know the Social Security system is VERY different than what I did disability wise through VA. That's why I wanted a high-end attorney who knew their stuff to represent me in my SSDI claim. Melissa and Erin at TCN&F really came through for me! Not only were they patient, answering all our questions, but they were outstanding advocates working with the SSA raters to ensure they had all the information they needed to decide my claim correctly. Gloria is very personable.... you don't need a nice attorney in court; you need a good attorney. She was ill prepared for my trial, skipped around a lot when questioning witnesses appearing as if she had no idea what she was doing. In the end not only did I lose, I had to pay opposing counsels legal fees! I know Gloria received newspaper recognition for settling a high profile discrimination case with St Mary's but considering the public outrage and the pulling out of major donors to St Marys because of the discrimination..... a parrot could have settled that case. I'm paying the consequences for using this attorney for years to come. I would highly recommend finding another more qualified attorney.
