If you looking for a good and compassionate family practice lawyer in the Portland, OR area. I would highly recommend Jack Dekovich, with McKinley Irvin, as he was very informative and did not sugar coat expectations when we met with him to discuss the possibility of moving from Missouri with our grandson that we have full guardianship to Oregon. Jack really did help to set our mind at ease while keeping expectations firmly grounded in reality.

I am so pleased with Jack. He put in a lot of time, effort and care into our difficult and demanding case. Very professional but still compassionate. Great attention to detail as well as his organization skills really made the difference for me. Would highly recommend Jack for anyone in need of representation. Choosing Jack was by far the best decision!

I'm very disappointed with my experience. I don't feel as if my attorney, Courtney Bellio, was very invested in my case as there wasn't much in the way of preparing me for a hearing that ended up taking three days. She drafted a memo for the judge prior to the hearing and the way she worded some things ended up causing the judge to state that I was less credible than the respondent (my ex-husband). Courtney advised that I do some research to prepare for the case - I provided her with six pages of factual information and none of it was used during the hearing. She advised me to refrain from bad-mouthing the respondent and to focus on the children as this was a relocation case. My ex-husband spent his entire testimony bad-mouthing me and rehashing issues from our divorce (which Courtney told me wasn't relevant to this case) and he ended up winning. After emailing Courtney to inform her that I do not need her services any longer I was charged over $250 for her to respond to that email (not necessary whatsoever) and "prepare" my case to be closed. This firm is out to get as much money as it can and doesn't truly care for its clients. To date, I've spent $3,500 only to lose my case. I will NEVER recommend this firm to anyone. It's been a complete waste of time and money.

Jack Dekovich was rigorous and attentive with my child custody/relocation case. There were so many moving factors and he addressed each situation with tact even when the other parties attorney attempted tactic after tactic to prolong and make the case as difficult as possible. He helped me to win 2/3 of the terms I went for and was patient and understanding every step of the way. I'm grateful I choose him as my attorney to represent me through this process. He took what would normally be a long and painful process and helped me navigate it with more ease and understanding, even with finishing up the final terms during the beginning of the Covid-19 lock down. I went to Jack Dekovich to help me through an ugly divorce. He was good at returning calls and answering any questions I had while the divorce was proceeding. In the end he was able to work with the opposing side, avoided having to go to court, and earning me much of what I asked for in settlement. I would recommend Jack because of his knowledge of the law and his patience with clients during stressful times. He’ll listen to you, give you the options available and, let you make the best decisions.

After setting up an initial consultation, I knew that we had found the right lawyer to help us through a difficult and messy divorce and custody case. The comments listed here about Jack being compassionate, caring, easy to work with, in-the-know, etc, are completely spot on, as Jack was not only all of that, but he is extremely intelligent and understands the needs that we had. Our process, through mediation to trial, was seamless and Jack kept us informed of all the actions needed on our end. He responded to all of our emails and would hop on quick calls whenever something came up that was urgent. Most of all, Jack was able to put my mind at ease with anything I was worried about with the case. I recommend Jack to anyone looking for an amazing Custody/Divorce Lawyer.

Right away Jack demonstrated that he knew family law comprehensively and that he would use that expertise to fight for me, tactfully but aggressively if needed.
