I'm really not sure how there are even any negative reviews on here about Tom at all. There is not one thing in either of those reviews that even slightly resembles my experiences with Tom. I initially hired Tom several years back to gain access to my daughter. Since my daughter's birth, her mother refused to let me see her. I was young and naive and paralyzed by the legal system. I have no idea how to navigate the courts and gain access to my daughter. I tried to file a motion on my own and could not even get the paperwork filled out correctly to get my motion into court and of course the court clerks cannot offer legal advice or make suggestions. I didn't make good money and I had spoke with a few attorneys to get an idea of cost. I was quoted 15,000-25,000. One attorney wanted a $7,500 retainer and the other wanted $10,000. I was crushed. I was referred to Tom by a friend and I had a consultation with him. He told me how he could help me and outlined a plan of action. He was very confident that he would gain me access to my daughter. The cost he estimated was much less than the other attorney's and quite frankly he seemed much more knowledgeable and competent than the other two attorneys I had met with. The retainer is what really made this possible for me. Tom's retainer was very reasonable and allowed me to afford his services even with my lower income job. He went right into action and we filed for Custody/Visitation. I had questions all along the way and he gave me detailed and informed answers. As nerve racking as going court can be I was actually very confident with the whole ordeal with Tom as my council. I was aware a healthy amount of parenting time and have a fantastic relationship with my daughter today. It was a rough go at first but it was the best decision I have ever made. I only wish I met Tom earlier. Last year I called on Tom again for legal help. I was getting divorced and hired Tom to represent me. The whole thing was resolved in less than a month. I got to keep my house... if you know what I'm saying. I'm really thankful to have met Tom. I've heaped enough praise on Tom. I also wanted to comment on his staff. His assistant Alex actually was very helpful during this whole process as well. I spoke with him on a few occasions when Tom was not available and Alex knew all the details about my case and had answers to many of my questions. I don't leave too many reviews on the internet. Mostly because my time is important to me and I can think of 100 things I'd rather be doing, like riding dirt bikes with my daughter or going taking her fishing. Well, I wouldn't be able to do those things without Tom's help so I wanted to take the time to share my experience. I happily recommend Tom Brasier to friends and family, and anyone taking the time to read this. Cheers.

Recently, my old settlement had to be reopened and I hired a lawyer. What I learned from this new attorney is that I had learned very little from my first round with Mr Brasier years ago. When working with him he would get impatient when I had questions. He even left me a frustrated and unprofessional message about not having reloaded my retainer yet when I actually had (he just hadn’t communicated with his secretary). Years later, I’m finding out that my settlement is poorly written, a result of both attorneys involved, with ambiguities in the language that are creating problems for me and costing me more money. I’m learning from my current attorney about rights I’ve had all along regarding custody, tax credits, and child support that Tom never informed me of. My current attorney cares about informing me of my rights and giving me the information I need to make good choices. When I recently called Mr Brasier to ask a question about my settlement, he joked that he never remembers his clients. While this may be true, it certainly doesn’t seem like something worth saying out loud.

Tom picked up a pretty complicated case that didnt have a clear-cut winner. He was overly patient and understanding. When he had a suggested course of action, he laid everything out and even gives you his very best guess of each outcome, with context. Tom explained each and every part of the process... and he did it without ever being disingenuous with billing. His assistant Alex is warm and inviting as well as efficient. Alex was always communicative when Tom wasnt able or necessary. Tom was so good, cordial and timely that even the opposition preferred to communicate with him instead of their own counsel, and fired them. Tom won my case the very best it could and it was because of the legal maneuvers he suggested. It delayed the outcome, it costed almost twice as much as expected... and Tom explained each and every reason why things resulted as such. We won, I got exponentially more time with my daughter. Tom is a man of his word and if you dont hire him right now, theres a chance youll see him at the other side's table... and I promise you, that is not an opponent you want to have.

It took over 5 years, but we won. He saw the injustices and kept giving balanced practical advice. Tom would listen to us, go over the pros and cons. Even if he disagreed, he would go with our choices. He was fair, worked with us financially, and the most important of all he kept on fighting. Tom never threw his hands up and said "I'm done." He never raised his rates. He never got angry, even when he told us "this was one of the hardest cases he's ever worked on." Tom changed our family. If there was a way to give him a 6 star review for his work ethic and unyielding efforts, we would do it.

I reached out to Tom Brasier to take on my Jurisdiction issue from California to Oregon. I knew it would be a very intricate case so I did my research because it mattered deeply to me to get it right the first time. I needed to find someone who won't make it sound ok or sugar coat it. Tom from the get go read my documents and let me know exactly where I stand and because my ex causes me a tremendous amount of stress he talked me through alot! I mean A LOT!!!! My case went better then expected 10 fold and he is a very interesting person to speak to as well. I highly recommend beyond doubt to allow TOM BRASIER be your Legal Counsel! your Attorney!!

Tom hit it out of the park for me! I would use him again in a heartbeat. If you're on the fence between Tom and another attorney - go with Tom. I've worked with a few attorneys over the years in Portland - Tom is by far the best I've had. My ex-wife and I were disagreeing with parenting time and my son's wellbeing when all of a sudden I was slapped with a Restraining Order (based on lies). The RO was used as a tool against me to prevent me from exercising parenting time. If I lost my hearing where I got to contest it, it would have been disastrous for me and my family! Tom was able to explain all the potential avenues we could take and navigate me through the entire process which really helped me calm my nerves. When we went to court, Tom's steady demeanor helped me again remain confident that we could win. In the end, it wasn't even close - Tom helped me get the RO dismissed in it's entirety!! I plan to keep him on retainer for whenever I need help with any more drama that may come up throughout the years. Tom is well worth it! I have zero complaints. I wouldn't be where I am today without him!

I couldn't disagree more with the 2 "anonymous" reviews on here. ( I never put any value to reviews that are "anonymous" ) I've had one attorney prior to Tom. Tom is definitely not motivated by trying to make money off his clients. These processes are expensive, period. Especially if you're involved in a contentious legal battle. I find Tom straight forward, fair in his costs, & he did an excellent job for me in court for an emergency order. These types of legal battles can be emotionally taxing, Hire a good therapist to help you through the emotional stress. Your attorney is there to fight the legal issues for you in a court of law. Tom did an excellent job with utilizing the right evidence I provided him to get my Emergency Order.

If your looking for a lawyer to handle your divorce I highly recommend Tom Brasier. Mr Brasier handled mine quickly, professionally, and either he or his office assistant Alex were available or got back to me in a timely matter. They made a bad time easily bearable and far less stressful than I imagined. Again I highly recommend Mr Brasier and his staff.

Tom was the perfect partner to help with gaining custody of my children. He not only had the knowledge to be more than successful in the end, but along the way he was kind enough to provide me with cogent and candid advice that was in my best interest. He will be honest when he doesn't entirely agree, but is more than willing to take direction from his clients if it's important to them. Tom Brasier recently helped my brother establish paternity for his daughter and then agreed to continue on as his attorney to help him gain full parental custody. This was not an easy case by any means as there were many challenges throughout the process. Tom was very knowledgeable and explained things so that our family was aware of what to expect throughout the entire process. He was always professional and honest with us. He was very personable and knew all of us by first name within only a couple of meetings. During the court hearings I had an opportunity to remain in the courtroom. Mr. Brasier was confident in his interaction with the Judge and his arguments for our case were outstanding in comparison to the other attorney. You could tell he was prepared and new from personal experience how to successfully address the Judge presiding over our case. He did so well that the last court date that was expected to be a full day ended up being only a couple of hours with no testimony having to be brought before the judge. He had successfully negotiated the case himself in the Judge's chambers and was able to win my brother full custody of his daughter. I am so thankful my brother found Tom as his attorney! He went above and beyond and was able to get my niece removed from a harmful living situation to the arms of a father who loved her and wanted to provide a stable loving home life! Our family will be forever grateful!

Mr. Brasier is a great attorney. As a single father fighting for the rights of my son, I had ran into many obsticles with our system. My son was taken out of the state by his mother, who had custody. Mr. Brasier always kept me informed about every step. Where I failed to keep my son here in Oregon, Mr. Brasier was able to win my case and have my son ordered back to Oregon, from Washington. Mr. Brasier's legal abilities are well worth the money spent. Garuanteed, I will recommend him and use him again, if I need an family law attorney.
