I was devastated when my long term disability payments abruptly stopped one day. After contacting my insurance provider they informed me that upon my recent graduation from college that I no longer qualified for benefits even though there were no dis-qualifiers in my contract with them stating as such. In short, they were dishonoring my contract with them and dropping me flat with no warning. So when I say I was devastated you can imagine what I mean. Not knowing where to turn I fumbled through the web and white pages of my phone book. I found Roy Law in Portland Oregon. I contacted him and a few others over a frantic desperate week. Chris Roy was very professional when I talked to him on the phone. He wasn't offering promises but he said my case was a good one if it ever got to trial. Soon after I began to get several calls from other very large global law firms that found me through my searches on the Internet. They were promising me and telling me things I wanted to hear. I had just sent my very small retainer to Roy Law. I quickly called his office telling him I wanted to go with another firm. His reply was sure I could do that. When I asked him if I could get my retainer back he said he would mail it out the next day. That was when I knew I had the right law firm and the right lawyer. If he had those kind of ethics going in, I knew that was the kind of lawyer I wanted representing me in my case. Roy Law represented me in my uphill battle to get what was right against a Goliath of an insurance company and their team of lawyers. While I was anxious and inpatient, my lawyer, Chris Roy remained calm, tactical, and most importantly, professional. While the insurance company never budged we moved along building our case and winning at trial. Now, with the big insurance company shamed at their trial loss, they refuted once again and appealed our win to a higher court. Chris Roy negotiated through mediation to get me a handsomely large settlement and a BIG WIN. I cannot say enough about the professional ethics and hard work of Chris Roy and his staff. I highly recommend his services to anyone seeking justice in the face of travesty when dealing with insurance/disability claims or any of the other services he provides for his clients. I had lost my long term disability case with my employer insurance and needed to do an appeal. I called Roy Law with a million questions which were all answered. I went with Roy Law, thank goodness, as he won my case. They fought hard for me and kept me informed through the entire process and case he was building. I am very, very grateful for Chris and his staff. I can not say enough about how they helped me and my family. The insurance company made me feel as if I was lying about my condition, which made me doubt myself, but Chris proved my injury was disabling, (I knew I was and still am in severe pain) but I wasnt sure if it was bad enough.
